I used CH products for years. Now my fighter stick and throttle are backups for the X55 setup.
I've had the X55 for over a year. I learned how to program them (Frooglesim video was quite helpful).
They hold calibration quite well. I keep them clean and use a non-petroleum lubricant on the joystick (spring base) which keeps it smooth as silk.
The X55 has tons of buttons and three modes. In AH every one of them is used for something. In terms of capabilities, both set-ups are pretty even, but I now prefer the X55 and will only change back over to CH in an emergency.
If I wanted the best stick and throttle (response and accuracy) I would be looking units that don't use pan potentiometers. Since those will bust my budget, I'm not looking.
I recommend the Saitek unit, based on my experience with them. I believe mine came with a two-year warranty, but you will want to confirm that.
