I lack money too (especially since I bleew up the engine of my Prelude on the freeway    , and my roomate left without paying rent/bills, and i took a speeding ticket just before the engine blow, and my girlfriend was kind of ... expensive.., and ...ENOUGHT!)

I don't really judge people who use the 2 weeks trial. I think HTC is already aware of those practices. Without the 2 weeks i would had not come to AH.

I believe paying HTC if you play the sim for longer is only fair game. HTC is putting a lot of efforts and giving them cash is fuelling their energy I think.

After all, if you start to get involved in the sim because you post your oppinion to the BBS, it means you appreciate it. If you do appreciate the sim, paying your due is the first right thing to do i believe.

Agree!!!Agree!!!!Agree!!!!
but i must say sht about it
i don't know about other countries, but in Poland 30$ is a lot of money   here we have serious problem with copyrights. i know a lot about it 'cuz i was working in one of biggest Polish game developer Mirage Media (they made Mortyr for example). Our problem now is that we earn like Polish, but we must pay like rest of the Europe or even USA maybe   i understand that there is no way to change it now, but believe me that is horrible feeling. let me give you some examples:
My monthly income is 1100Pln (244$).it's not so bad in Poland. Now i must spent about 100$ for my room, about 55$ for gasoline, about 1.4$ per hour for internet acces at 55.6k modem. about 1$ for pack of cigarettes and of 'cuz i must eat sth
so at the end of month i have no money at all   ahh almost forgot audio CD costs here about 15$, one computer game costs 30-40$
So our situation is not so funny, but we MUST respect copyrights, there is no other way. Like in this case- HTC put a lot of work on this GREAT sim, and he really DESERVES for HIS MONEY, but inside of my heart i understand some peoples who didn't have any money for it but love this game like me. I DON'T think they diong right, but simply understand it. Every month i wondering about close my account for some time and maybe someday i'll do it   but when i collect some money i'll back here
No matter what do ya thinking about us, poor Poles i'll be paying for my account as long as i can 'cuz I LOVE THIS SIM and THIS COMMUNITY
Big <S> to all of ya and cya up there

Nice post Bikekil! Salute!

You've put paying for AH into perspective for us Americans that don't have a clue about other countries pay scales.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you but many people in America can spend $250 on one single meal or even a single bottle of wine.

I wouldn't have a problem with other country players paying a lower rate, especially if you have to pay per hour on your Internet connections.

I have to agree, i feel very sorry for foreign pilots because of the valuation of their currency versus the dollar. I wish they had to pay a equivilent rate for their country. For me, USD 30$ is not chump change, but I'll spend that much going to 2 movies or 1 ball game so its not bad in my book, but I hate to see all the great foriegn pilots have to pay through the nose

So, if its a US pilot doing this, its very wrong. If its a foriegner, its not so bad in my book. (10% of monthly income to play AH? just doesn't seem fair)

Guys you also must remeber that HTC is American company, and they living there and they really DESERVING for 30$ from EVERYONE who plaing this sim, They paying his bills and taxes in US so i think they needs my 30$ (not my 10$ for example) too. IMO is my problem that i'm living in Poland and my income is not so good ( average here ). Maybe some day things 'll get better here and everything 'll be ok. So as i said before i'll be paing for my account as long as i can   hehe or maybe i change my job
30$ is ok for me, and so far i can still have my account
<S>!
p.s. I REALLY LOVE MY COUNTRY

Man, whoo,

I thought this was about me.

I was typing the lyrics to "Good Morning Starshine" from the musical Hair into the Knight Text buffer during one of HT's awe inspiring Sunrises.

I promise, no more musicals.

Okay, Okay, I May have to do JC Superstar or Fiddler on the Roof, but no Rogers and Hammerstein, except maybe for HMS Pinafore, or Pirates of Penzance.
