Hurr II's cannon armed are bomber slayers in this setup

Ain't that the truth. 4 x 20mms against Ju-88s with .30 MGs goes very badly for the bombers. If you're used to heavy bombers, 26s, and single A20s in the MA - either attacking them or flying them - these lightly armed medium bombers are a very different kettle of fish. Luckily for us our escorts were on the job and managed to keep most of us alive long enough to make our drops. It was white-knuckle fighting on 3 of our sorties, though, with plenty of blood shed on both sides - I learned the hard way in the BoB scenario that even .30s can be lethal if a whole squadron's guns are trained on one or two fighters.

(Waystin2, looking at the film where you holed both my main fuel tanks - which caused that poor plane to die a lingering death - I'm amazed you came out of there alive even with the radical maneuvering.  :salute for a very gutsy attack!)

I'm still not quite sure what happened but what I do know is we had a ball.  Every run we encountered something and they attacked us and we fought for our sorry little lives.

Hats off to those 109 jocks that participated!
Some of those "jocks" you ran up against were VF-17. I know, 'cause my first time dying in this scenario was by your guns  :salute

Same to you Bruv and your Squad at on point I thought I would of finally had a Bruv119 kill in the one 88 raid but Makayla ended that dream. Was great action all around wherever our 109s flew too.

The 88 raid we got caught up in was crazy,  I got 6 kills in 1min 23 seconds.   I gambled and thought the escort wouldn't come down and thankfully I think many compressed as we went in on a few ju88s.    My spitty was throttle off and creaking all the way down had to use elevator trim to bag the first ju88 cleanly.  From then on it was just surreal,  109s whizzing by, tracer rounds from the boats going everywhere.   I didn't have time to check my 6 but jason called it, then I just started latching on to anything infront of me and bagged like 3 in no time.   It was a dam shame you got makayla otherwise we would have had 23 between us with no loss.   I had to leave for last 30 mins.

I am still annoyed I wasn't filming because we also had two excellent 2vs5 engagements during the course of the frame, it was like the 109's thought oh hey lets pop down and kill those two idiots little did they know   :devil.  Had we been in proper formation I dare say they would have left the area.  Everything about the frame was what I love about this game and rarely does it happen that way anymore.

Having logged very few hours these past months I was surprised to see my aimbot still working because it felt like every round I fired either went into the guys head or took his wing.    :D

Not complaining though, we had such fun, it seemed that because the numbers were not as high we could have some better dogfights without getting overwhelmed.

Personally, I dislike the radar settings (realistic or not).  Having darbar show up the second you are wheels up is a pain.  We had orders to fly NOE and honestly, flying under radar is impossible, which those of us in Bostons tried with great effort.  I'm not sure if it is the drones or what, but my group was flying at 50' or less and the darbar still identified our sector.  I believe I was told that the setting was at 65' (there is nothing I see in the writeup).

I would like to see something a little closer to the MA standards, perhaps extending the base flash on incoming NOE attacks, but having darbar the entire time just makes any NOE, small force attack, tough to pull off (not that we didn't)

Alpo I think the dar bars while on the ground were only visible to friendlies, as the enemy dar bar height (before they show to enemies) was at 250 feet.  The 65 feet for radar is the height dots show as you pass through any radar rings.  So, as long as you stayed under 250 feet and avoided radar rings you should have been good..... although, inadvertently flying through enemy ship radar rings can of course happen without realising until the ack starts firing.  :)

The darbar would only have been visible to friendlies at that height.  Just because you can see it doesn't mean the enemies can.  ;)

Our P40's really seemed greatly outclassed by our enemies aircraft and so I think at first we were most hesitant to fight in them, plus our orders were to get the enemy away from the bombers. AKRaider did a great job  leading us.  :aok

Towards the end we were able to just fight and have more fun.  I think that's the most I've died in any scenario. Lots in an LVT which was when I was laughing the hardest and had the most fun.

Always dazzled by JG11's wingman tactics, love seeing it even if it gets me killed. :salute
