A DXDIAG output might be helpful.

Also, if you are running any type of anti-xxxx software, that could cause it as well.

Aces High will not open for me. It worked yesterday and nothing has changed. Same Antivirus program, etc.

Attached DxDiag

Appreciate any help.

If you have a Sound Blaster Z, why are you using USB audio? I would disable the VIA audio, also. You can also go to Samsung and download a driver for your monitor (yours is not specifically a 'B' model, but this should work):

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/S27C230B

You could use more memory, but aside from that I do not see a hardware issue. Luckily, we have a Skuzzy.

EDIT: Wait! Is that an integrated graphics chip? Hmmm . . .

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

It is a wonder it worked.  Creative does not play well with other sound devices.  You need to either get rid of the Creative card or the onboard VIA sound device.

I also noted it was Windows 10.  Did you get an update in the last few days?

Thanks Challenge. Best I can tell, the usb audio is my headset. I disabled it and VIA audio and AH2 still won't launch. Initial box pops up for a few seconds then disappears.

I downloaded the drivers for my monitor. I don't see the integrated graphics chip?

I don't know of Windows 10 updating recently. I did migrate my HDD to a new SSD a few days ago, but AH2 launched fine after the transfer.

The reason I asked about an integrated graphics chip is because of the way Windows is reporting shared memory.

I suspect you might be launching from a desktop icon? It could be that the icon you are using is not properly associated? I would ty going to the Aces High folder, right click on the AcesHigh.exe and "Create Shortcut." Then right click the shortcut, cut, paste it to your desktop.

If that doesn't fix it, then you could be the victim of the Windows update that Skuzzy is hinting at. If so, the only fix that I am aware of is to completely reset Windows, which will give you fresh install but could cost you data and installed programs. Before you try that you might get back to us just in case there is another way around it.

I would like to see a fresh DXDIAG output.

At what point does Aces High crash?  Please be very exact.

If it is before the initial splash screen, then it is more of a basic Windows problem as the initial screen is pretty much like any other Windows program.

A crash that early usually means an initialization error of some kind.  Usually down in a driver or in the bowels of Windows itself.

FGBullet sent his output in http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,378835.msg5045149.html#msg5045149, the OP has been silent after his first post.

That is not his most recent.  He says he has disabled the VIA sound chip.  That DXDIAG shows it to still be enabled.

Oh geez, I'm too slow for the modern times! If I calculated the time zones correctly, it was sleeping time during those eleven hours between his dxdiag and your wish for a fresh one. Did I convert the time correctly, did you really post at 5:50:59? And further, were you at the office when you posted?

I was at home.  A 5:50am post is not that early for me.  I have a couple of furry alarm clocks who are not aware of daylight savings time.

Created a new shortcut to desktop; still won't open.

AH beta opens fine.

The DXDIAG is a fresh output. I changed everything back to the original settings when it launched correctly. Sorry for the confusion.

The initial splash screen comes up for approximately 3 seconds then disappears. Other than Aces High 2 in the top left corner the splash screen is completely white.
