Friday we had squad night (47 Ronin) and attacked Knights. We had buffs with escorts at less than 20k looking to get a fight going. Knights didn't want a fight, they grabbed while our dar bar moved south toward their base and came at us from 25K+ Wasn't much of a fight and after getting ganged from high alt pickers we just left and moved on. I hope they had fun for the short time it lasted.

Respectfully, what should they have done?  Stayed low and crawled up the bombers' low six to attack?  They did exactly what you should do when you've got bombers incoming and time to prepare.  Get above them and attack.

People go high for defense because 90% of the time when an organized bunch of bombers comes in, they come in at 20k+.  Usually more like 30k or so.

Personally  I rarely go over 12k, if anyone wants to waste the time going to 25k to be over me they are going to have to drop down to get me any way, why bother climbing?

Tactics?  Bah! It's called being a wuss. You cant handle a fight on even terms? Where's the challenge in using 5-10k alt advantage picking lower cons?

Too many believe the number of kills is more important than the actual game which is combat.

Wasn't the 16 fight last night on the Rook-Knight front?  That was one of the more intense battles I've seen in a good while.  Lots of people involved in it for a long time.

Wiley.

that was an awesome fight.  had lots of fun.  fights everywhere from the deck all the way to 20k.  I still have a woodie.

Seek psychological help...

Junky can't help but cry about cmex or my other squaddies...so he gets called on it...you don't see any of my guys on here whining about any one player or squad about any aspect of their flying or lack thereof, their tactics, their HOing, their running, or any of the other lametastic things that people do in this game...

Have a good day shida :salute

You can blame/thank me for this.  I was cruising around in the Zoneysphere with my K4, when I spotted your dar bar coming early.  I called it out on country channel and then flew to intercept.  As soon as I spotted your group I called it out again on country with altitude and numbers, including your escorts.  I then lingered and waited for my country mates to arrive before attacking.  It's what I do.

Were your escorts not above the bombers by a significant margin?  If not, recommend remedial escort tactics training for all.

To expect to survive a bomber attack run, you need to come in from high unless you've got a ton of smash and/or are in a jet.  Unless the bomber gunner is a complete numpty, coming in co alt is pretty much a death sentence.  Sorry, but that's the way it works out.

how ironic that fugitive complains about getting hit by high altitude noobs while his squad was at 20k.

I was not there, but I've found that it is almost impossible to prevent that initial pass on a bomber formation by interceptors. The best you can hope for is to break up a formation, particularly in a scenario environment.

That said, I almost never escort bombers in the MA. I don't like flying that high, dogfighting at that altitude is akin to two fat ladies trying to perform ballet.

If all you've got is close escort, wholeheartedly agree.  That's what the escorts out front are for, to break them up/give them something else to think about.  The close escorts are there to stop them from having free reign to keep attacking with impunity.

That first pass, you may lose one drone.  Very few people will take a twofer/threefer on initial attack.  It's when the interceptors attempt to reverse that the escorts should be all over them.
