A surprise while visiting the doctor

From last week

Monday - seen eye doctor for one eye getting blurry.  They check,  ask about symptoms. Eye scan shows issue with retina. They make rush in appointment with retina specialist next day

Tuesday - specialist finds detached retina, schedules emergency surgery on Thursday

Thursday  - freak out before surgery, had to stay overnight with issues with anesthesia,  minimum 1 week stay in bedon back, no reading to strain eyes. Either look at tv or stare at the ceiling. They put band around the eye.

long story short,  get your eyes checked. This happened within one year, believes from having weak retinas from being very nearsighted

  Dont put it off too long,it could become more of a problem than it needed to be!

  It's pretty cool how they can spot weld your retina back in place!

  I had that done plus they implanted lens because the cataracts had gotten so bad and then I need some yag surgery after it was all healed.  Yag is where they remove little bubbles from the cornea. I had great vision for about 2 years,now it's not so great again but I can see!


  Meat once you're all healed up,get a GOOD pair of sunglasses!

Don't put it off.  I had both of my eyes done this winter.  What a wonderful difference.

Yep last thursday. After 7 days im off severe restrictions now.

For them my eyesight is at -5.5 in my good eye with astigmatism, the other eye not sure as it was stopped and referred to a specialist. At the time of the check without my contact in the bad eye, it was around 20:200. A year ago nothing was visible, eyesight was 20:25. They are saying that it looks like it was weak, tore, then kept on going. My primary vision comes from the right eye so I didnt think about it much until the day of the checkup

Buy Oakleys with the Iridium Polarized lenses only.  Trust me on this.  I am very near sighted, uncorrected 420/20 with an astigmatism and Kerotinitus.  I see the eye doctor twice a year.  Stay on it it is your eyes.

so far so good. todays visit shows everything is healing and my eyeball didnt fall to pieces so im cleared to go back to work on light duty
