Issue:
Mic was not working in AH3 but works in AH2.
In Options > Preferences > Game Sounds there were two listings for microphone:
Stereo Mix (2-Realtek High Definition Audio)
Microphone (Sound Blaster Audigy FX)
In Options > Preferences > Voice, the Mic Volume was greyed-out and did not change no matter what was selected for Microphone in Game Sounds.
Solution:
Right-clicked speaker icon on task bar and selected Recording Devices to open Sound window.
Under the Recording Tab, double-clicked Stereo Mix to open the Properties window.
Under the General Tab at the bottom, changed Device Usage to "don’t use this device (disable)".
Clicked OK to save changes and close Properties window.
Stereo Mix is now greyed-out.
Clicked OK to close Sound window.
Under Game Sounds, ensured Microphone (sound Blaster Audigy FX) was selected and clicked ok.
Under Voice, Mic Volume now shows active (not greyed-out) and mic works.
