Well, just very knowledgeable will do
I just got an EVGA GTX 1060 SSC and love it. It's a BIG improvement over the HD 6950. FPS of 150-300 depending on surroundings. Dropped to around 60-70 in heavy forest with tank gun sight fully zoomed. That's with default settings. Max temp 74C with CPU load of 99%. Fans never got above 34%.
Now for my questions:
The driver (373.06 Oct. 6, 2016) download include several other pieces of software. I installed them all but wonder if I need them or some I may be better off without. They are:
PhysX System Software
3D Vision Controller Driver
Nvidia HD audio Driver (I have a Soundblaster Z with newest driver)
NVIDIA Geforce Experience
3D Vision Driver
Should I uninstall some of them? I intend to look them up but I know some of you may havde the answers based on experience.
I'm not sure how to adjust settings for the card. Is that the Geforce experience? When I clicked on it it asked me if I wanted to install it.
Are there any other utilities that you recommend?
The only thing I see that I don't like is a lot of shimmer of trees and structures at a distance. Antialiasing on or off in the game makes no difference. I see it in DX9 and DX11. I saw it with the 6950 and hoped the 1060 would fix it. Anyone have a solution to this?
I'm assuming the max temp of 74 is OK. It could certainly be lowered by speeding up the fans. I didn't notice them at 34%. I also don't know what software I need to change the fan curve.
Any help will be appreciated.
