I saw Bob Hoover fly a P51 Mustang at Apple Valley, California. It's something I will never forget. There was a 20 mph crosswind and he ran the Mustang the length of the field on one wheel. He was quite the character he escaped from a German prisoner of war camp by stealing a Fw190 and flying it out. I believe his autobiography was called Always Flying it's a great read..
