I always knew health care was not the worlds greatest in Ukraine, but I never thought this was possible.
About 2-3 years ago my Father In law (Age 60) was complaining of rectal bleeding. Of course like many people he does not see the doctor until early this year. Yes he has colon cancer, they radiate for 5 days, then operate.
After which he goes home and they say he should be fine.
He never felt very good after the operation, and 2 months ago we convinced him to go back in to find out whats up. At This point he can not poo, has fever and lost lots of weight (think holocaust). The stick a finger up, take an Xray and tell him he is fine. A week ago they finally take blood and tell him he is anemic and give him something to self inject.
So we finally talk him in to coming back to the US, was here 3 years ago with green card. This past Wednesday 10/19/2016 he arrives and does not look good, my wife takes him to emergency Thursday morning, at 1:00 AM Friday he has a colostomy. After CT scan and sonogram he obviously still has a large tumor.
As things progress the oncologist tells us if would be very helpful if we find out what the previous operation did, and what radiation treatments were performed.
Yesterday after MRI the tumor has not spread to any glands, but is pushing against his Pelvic wall , bladder and prostate.
This morning my Brother in law goes to the hospitable to get records. The doctor tells him that when they opened Victor up, they saw the large tumor decided they could not do anything and closed him back up.
Told him he was fine and sent him home.
So since March he has been thinking he should be getting better,and even after many visits the doctor kept telling him he was fine.
