The ack..well I was at 27k, turning back to base (nothing like a long afk), and ping....ack kill.   Couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 miles from the base:)  But I watch others fly right through a full up field with no apparent issues....so I just think its a roll of the die.

This.  The other guy's gunnery is an approximation on your end.  If there's a moment of lag as you're getting hit, it can come across on your end all at once so you go from showroom fresh to tower and may only hear one ping or a couple.

Wiley.
Good point! I am not sure exactly how lag works but like others , just roll with it. I have on the other hand, seen a LARGE increase in other planes warping, even saw a T34 and jeep warp a few times. I know its a new graphics engine but STILL the same internet :headscratch: Would under preforming computer systems cause lag to be more prevalent? I believe that lag and gunnery is a " If you see it, you get it" system? Like i shoot see damage, other guy is damaged...whether he saw it on his end or not? May not be worded correctly  It just seems that I see a lot of hit sprites on my end, usually in a spit16, and alot of the time the damage seems to be slight. Then on the other end, it seems I cant fly through a sector with someone shooting 20 mils and not get obliterated. :uhoh This isnt a complaint, just a observation. Just wondering how all this new stuff and old stuff works together.

Interesting.  I think I've noticed about the same amount of warping as before.  The one thing that has V A S T L Y improved is the way bomber drones are dealt with.  Since AH3, I haven't seen a drone warp, they just very smoothly go where they're going.

With your own gunnery, what you see is definitely what counts for damage.  Anybody else's gunnery, you're only seeing an approximation.

I will keep track of the p-38 event of losing both ailerons to see if it occurs equally in air combat as it does to field ack.  My thoughts are the damage model is not the problem but increased lethality of field ack of which I have no problem.

Agreed, its like the lethality has been increased ..

Skuzzy I have many films but not a lot of time to go through them .. I will though.
