Fire/smoke/explosions (example from Falcon BMS)

Take a look at the fire/smoke/explosions in the first 20 secs or so of this BMS video.   Do you think graphic effects like that are possible for AH3?   



The runway is bombed starting at about the 1:00 mark as well, also very impressive...

I think those graphics are possible, but would be more taxiing on users PC.
Some people are already complaining that their systems can barely keep up now.

that would be nice!  AH2 smoke was almost that dark.  The explosions look like fire, mesmerizing!  :cool:

I would like to see AH3 terrain to look that "normal".  :aok

Have you ever sat outside a factory as bombers drop on it? Ever been engaged with a fleet? How about visiting a refinery every now and then? AH3 looks very good already!

USRanger and Croduh have both made some amazing effects within the old AH2. This includes explosions and even lightning within the sky.

Yes, but it depends on if the graphics engine AH uses would be capable of such effects, which the engine seems to be able to from the effects in AH3.

Care to explain why the effects shown in the video wouldn't be possible in AH3?  Or are you just saying no because you have some bone to pick with HiTech that you can't seem to suppress with each post of yours?

What I thought was pretty cool was that the explosions seemed to combined smoke and fire together; it wasn't separate smoke and separate fire.  I also thought the traveling explosion after the first plane was hit at low level was very cool - seemed to explode, then skid along the ground and then really explode.  Just seemed very realistic to me.  And the Snake Eyes hitting the runway seemed to be a different graphic affect altogether, with much more smoke than the aircraft explosion/crash.

Pretty impressive for such an old graphics engine, isn't it?  Doesn't this engine date from the 90s?

It is my beliefe that if Aces High could produce the graphics as seen in the video, it would already be doing it.

Not so. AH tends to make their game playable with older equipment. You can throw a lot of things in the pot but if most folks can't see the pot..... it fails.
