If there are going to be circle lines when zoomed in close, I'd prefer to see just the lines without the color fill.

WTG on finding a way to make the shaded circles not add together when they overlap.  No idea how you got that to work, but I think its a critical improvement.  You're amazing.

If you are able to set the shaded circle's outline color to the exact same color and opacity as the shade color, it would make the shaded circles appear not to have an outline - I think that would be desirable, especially where many circles overlap.

I don't know if that blue shade is just for testing, but I don't recommend that color for the shading - its too close to the color of the water.  I think a basic, subtle, mostly transparent shade would look best - enough substance to recognize it as a shaded area but enough transparency that the details and color of the underlying terrain still come through.  Doesn't have to be a color at all really.

EDIT:  There may be a problem in the that display - when radar is down at a field with many close by fields - like V11 in your example - the resulting area of 'no coverage' will not be a perfect circle as shown in your shot - because the coverage from the adjacent fields' radars would fill up a lot of the empty circle from the edges.

Good catch, Ill change the draw order to only show the black where no radar is.

Like the look..but it was brought up that shading causes 1) loss of terrain features and 2) loss/mask of enemy icons due to overlapping dar rings.

Possible fix is to just make the dar ring go away when there is no Dar.   Removes clutter...and easy to tell IMO.

Keep the changes coming, appreciate the hard work!

I thought it was a non factor to the game since it doesn't effect gameplay....Still praying I look at the patch download and see "M3 Resupply to town buildings has been cut in half"....For me it wasn't a great QOL addition to the game,

The new radar set up is really not an upgrade at all, I know that they want to make the game better, but I think this new set up is a step backwards. If Hitech wanted to make an improvement, here is what I would like to see done. When the radar is up show the white circle, when it is down, shrink the circle red to icon range and that is the point to where the base flashes, kind of like what GV’s do . I could never understand if the radar was down, why the base would go into alarm when an intruder broke the original (and now down) radar ring. It only makes sense that if you can’t see or hear me why would the base go into alarm

Anyone having trouble seeing this?
HiTech

Really don't know what was wrong with the old, simple rings lit or unlit showing DAR up or down. The mouse over touch for field stats is nice but can't we just keep the same simple rings? I think the shading (any color) is making things worse.

The blue dar is visible, but blends with the water too much. The grey looked much better to me: a bit lighter along with the other suggested changes would be nice, no darkening with overlap, etc.

For the colorblind, changing the color in gui would do the trick if the option is added.

Again, have a "classic ring" option for those who don't like the new dar.

Or how about the option to lighten or darken the circles to fit your particular eyes?

I personally like the new circles, but I can understand how they could be hard for some people to see.

I'm really liking the new dar.  I would recommend lightening up a bit the grey dar circles a bit and also lighting up the orange dead dar circles a bit also.  The map looks a bit less cluttered.   How about we try the new setup for say a month and see how it wears on us.

Another idea if I may: for active dar make the circles just a bit lighter than the surrounding map,  it would look kinda alive, working, electrified  and the dead dar cicles a bit darker than surrounding map,  cause its dead,  just an idea to throw out there,  you never know, it might look great.

:salute to all the hard work of HTC staff for making a great WW2 air, ground, sea combat sim.

I may get tarred and feathered.... But I really like the new changes. I came back to a pair of patches and think the map looks great!

After the initial WTF moment and a bit of poking around the map the benefits became clear. Love it HTC and co. !!!!!    :salute

Ya, me too.  I like it.

Still can't find anything "wrong" with it. I understand some of the coloring requests, but using the zoom function will get you the detail you need. Zoom all the way out, and you can actually see what's happening on a map without sequentially removing "spawns, radar, field names, icons, etc.". It's exactly what I used to do, but now I just zoom out.

For all those who are generally giving the response: "change is bad". Please take your dementia pills, realize it's 2017 and any work on this game should first be considered an improvement and second analyzed for personal preference.

Literally can't see elements because of color-blindness, or similar shades, that's a problem and should be noted for review.

If you've tried nothing and are all out of ideas... Please don't rag on the progress. I'd rather take 1 step forward and two back, then not move at all.

Agreed.   HiTech responds to a request with a pretty noble first effort and gets flamed.  No wonder relatively few wishes see daylight.

think it's more about other things being priority in their minds....not the change is bad argument (which is definitely an overall problem withe the community)...I think there are more pressing gameplay issues that require attention more then this.

Optics are important.  The map is one of the first things a player sees.  This change brings a lot with it for relatively low effort.
