There is a glitch with the clipboard map, in that you can inadvertently end sortie simply by moving the map selection beyond the visible window. This only affects ground vehicles due to the double default that this action can't be performed while a plane is moving.
To see what I refer to: get in a ground vehicle, open the clipboard, select a point on the map, click-drag that point until it is over the "end sortie" button. Release the drag and the end sortie button triggers a tower. A sortie end should come upon the act of intentionally clicking the button that is what it is there for, not by simply moving the map too far. To whomever defines this as a "learned skill," I will reply it is a glitch and makes the game unnecessarily troublesome for newcomers as well as seasoned players.
