sweet fx trouble
« on: February 15, 2017, 08:35:45 AM »
Followed a youtube tutorial but it doesn't work for me.  Pics of my settings and folders:

The guy on youtube said scroll lock turns the program on and off in game but it doesn't work.
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

I think by default it uses the middle mouse button to enable/disable. Try that.

Sweetfx 1.5 will not work with AH3, you need Sweetfx 2.0.

Sweetfx 1.5 will not work with AH3, you need Sweetfx 2.0.

Sweetfx is now called Reshade.  Downloaded version 3. something, which is the only choice you get.  Everything is going well until I try to add a preset in the tutorial.  Hit the plus button and type in a name for the preset and nothing happens.  It is up and running with AH3 but I can't create the preset for some reason.

This is the same dialog box that comes up in game, but alt s won't work when the box is up, but print screen works when the clipboard is initialized.

Type in the name and nothing happens.

You are correct Sweetfx is now Reshade, I am using one of AKAK's presets that I have modified. Having no problem.

What does this Reshade/SweetFX do for AH?

I would be more than happy to share the preset I use, but AKAK has several set up already. Mine is a copy of one of his that I have customized a little.

Can you send me a copy and also show me where you placed it?  Might help with the issue I'm having.

Here is my sweetfx folder that is in the AH3 folder. It has the preset already in it.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to use that with Reshade 3.0, so I tried to get 2.0 and the website says 2.0 is deprecated (not specific as to what or how) and they recommend 3.0 - which puts me in the same mess I already have.  Some people make computer stuff seem easy.  I don't fall into that group.  :(

From what I have been able to find, Sweetfx 2.0 will not work with Reshade 3.0 or higher.
