Getting Back Into It?
« on: February 16, 2017, 01:29:47 AM »
So after a good 7 year break from the game I decided that it might be time to come back in. Just kind of curious as to how the game has changed since I have been gone and how the player base is now a days.

The whole "You can leave but you can never check out" thing is true with this game.

much more ground action.  Much more aircraft running to protect score.  Odd maps that promote the ground game.

If you find an air fight it is still the best game out there but a little glitchy with the new version in terms of frame rates, warps, freezes and they appear to be having issues addressing that.  Probably still the best on the market in prime time but outside of that it is probably not worth playing. Unless you want to bomb undefended towns, in which case it is great.

I can't answer to the GVs or Bombers because I rarely do that, but I fly fighters all the time and find lots of good furballs.  I only fly Fri. and Sat. nights, so I can't tell you about off hours.  I think the best of AH is FSO and Combat Challenge that are held on Friday nights at 11:00PM EST.

I've played for 16 years without a break and have seen many players come and go and return.  The community are still a great bunch of people.  Most will be willing to help you get back up to speed.

Still good fun!

From 12am CST to 10am can be rather dry.. but it also depends on what map is up.

We lost some players in the switch from AH2 to AH3 that had obsolete gaming rigs, but things are picking back up.

The whole "You can leave but you can never check out" thing is true with this game.

The download is free. Download and install it and get it running on your system. A rig that ran AH2 well most likely isn't going to run AH3 as well. Much more graphic goodies to display.

Once you have the game running well on your computer join up! It's only $15 and Im sure after a month you will know if your going to stay or not. Its a small price to pay.
