Nah with the speed, diving, and climbing abilities of the 152 it's easy.

I've landed 18 in a P-38J.

All I used was frozen margaritas as my wingman.   :joystick:

Actually the number of margaritas he drank that night....not kills. And still not as fun as a 38maw drunk.

Tour 205, all pilots with a minimum of 10 sorties in fighter mode:

Median K/D 0.54
Median K/S 0.34
Median K/H 2.34
Median Hit% 3.26

Edit:
Median time spent in fighter mode: 8.5 hours with a staggering total of 19 kills...

And 'median' means 50% of the pilots had been worse than that.  :old:

Back in the days of Titanic Tuesday and hugely populated weekends you would see outlandish kill totals landed. I landed 14 plus in a 47N with 1 rearm. I don't have the patience to re arm 99% of the time.

What's the average K/D these days? .5?

That's the avg BAC during FSO.

I'll post screen shots of me landing 20-30 plus kills when I get home.

Back in the days of Titanic Tuesday and hugely populated weekends you would see outlandish kill totals landed.

But only by a small minority of players, who were able to fully exploit the 'fish in a barrel' situations. I did myself some stunts like 50 in a Tempest (rearm), 11 in a Hurricane 1 with and 6 or 7 without rearm. I wouldn't be able to do anything like that in today's arena, not only because I've gotten older and slower, but also because I could not find enough appropriate targets anymore.

I remember running some analysis about landed kills back in the day. Turned out most kills weren't even landed with an arena 'landed X kills in'  message (either because the pilot had just one, or died).  And the broadcasted landing messages had mostly been 2 and 3 kills type - but the outlandish ones are those getting all attention and thus getting remembered so well.

The average Joe still had a success rate quite similar to the one I posted earlier,

I got 11 in an I16 with a few rearms.

One was at 30,000 feet.

Still haven't gotten a b29 at high altitude with one yet but lucked into a HO'ing P38 at 21k in a stuka in the first time I flew it.

with one re-arm i got 12 in a 38L.  the trip home was tough. a spiral climb from a chasing spitfire.  limped home low fuel and smoking engine.

im pretty sure there is film of it on a hard drive somewhere.

The purpose of this thread is not to be braggadocious (love that word!) or anything of the sort (I'm not Grizz... not by a long shot.)

The purpose of this thread is to inform people like LTCClark, who started a thread with cheating allegations because someone landed 17 kills in a 262, that yes, there are people out there who can land double digit numbers of kills in just about any ride. No cheating required.

Hmm.......

Should someone make a post saying something like???

WORD!  heh

Edit: if my memory serves me right, Dead+/DMF/Leviathan etc... had a discussion similar to this thread, something like 13 or 14 years ago... regarding how easy it is to land multiple kills or go past 100 kills before being killed once...

Heh, some things never change

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

And yet, they are doing it late war monster planes.  Often flying in concert with other uber pilots in their late war monster planes.

What on Earth could possibly interest them in a game that is so easy for them?

Obviously it does interest them regardless of whether you or I understand why. It's their $14.95.
