Believe Kazaa had somewhere around 300 kills without dying once. So that confirms his status.

So you was there when I was, when YES (edit: it was actually STICK that created KOTH) of the 327th created the event in Air Warrior, and it went down to WrgWy, SM (Snowman), myself and Filth... in the first 2 or 3 koths... if my memory serves me right...could be 1 or 2 off....but I bet a grand I have flown more KOTH events than anyone else, since it's inception.......heck, I think it was FiLtH that won the complete CH Hotas setup, iirc...

as for who is the best in the game....stupid question..anyone can be beaten on any given day..think batfink along with myself posted that years ago.....

Spek! fun fights in the matchplay the other night, first time I even tried it, was a blast <S>

TC

the first few koth's were a squad only event.  I believe after the 6th then they opened to everybody.

Semp, hope you didn't take my post the wrong way

It's been so long ago that I didn't even know you were in the 327th with STICK, KOOL, eagle, YES, heck I think GOOSS was a member as well...

I do remember discussing the creation of it and thought it would be a great event...

Rearms

Yep

The rearm pad can be used as a "sortie" misconception device.  Maybe it should be renamed the: "Fake Sortie News Enabling Platform" - when used in this manner?

That sorties can be extended by first LANDING then using this magic device to: ignore you just LANDED, yet you are still flying but now have full fuel and ammo is curious.

Think about it.  Do you really think pilots fly more aggressively or carefully having the ability to extend a sortie forever (and land a crazy number of kills per "sortie")?  Does having n players flying "carefully" help facilitate more and better ACM?

BTW, I am a fan of the WWII usage of the rearm pad.  I am glad it is in the game in this context...but not the "sortie" abuse context.

Sortie- end when plane lands (Each T&G?)? Engine(s) shuts off? Pilot gets out?  Or turned over for maintenance?  I lean towards the sortie ends when ops turns acft over for maintenance.  Rearm/refuel a maintenance action - nah.

I agree. Hotpadding a non issue.

Of course not every score obsessed pilot abuses the sortie every time.  Plus I am a fan of the rearm pad.  It should be kept in the game.

The plane does land and the engine is shutoff though.  Are you going to tell me in real-life WWII, after a multi-hour flight pilots tended to not get out? Stretch their legs, relieve themselves...    "Hotpadding" WWII style was not like NASCAR.  It took a bit more time.  :old:

My guess is that those that need to skew a sortie are in favor of rearm pad abuse, while those that would rather have more engaging and less tentative opponents the latter.

The real crux, what I am challenging you guys to reconsider, is based around quality of fights per sortie on average.

I'm not sure where you guys got the "abuse" label for hotpadding.  It is coded in the game and expected to be used therefore, if I am not mistaken.

No one makes anyone use it.  If you don't like it then don't use it.

It adds to the fun for me so I use it.
