Range/Channel Vox
« on: March 16, 2017, 02:52:11 AM »
Would it be possible to put in an option for having Range and Channel vox play out of separate ears on your headset?  Eg. Range playing out of your left ear and Channel out of your right?  I know you can set everything to play sequentially but I find that leaves important calls coming far too late when vox is busy.

It might still be hard to follow but I think I'd have an easier time of it than understanding a check six call and a thrilling tale about what kind of dog food you buy coming out of both ears at the same time.

I would prefer the ability to detune the dog food discussion.

However, Hitech has made it clear that we will not be allowed to exclude the Home Shopping Network. If we want to listen to the Battle of Britain channel we must simultaneously listen to HSN.

I am glad he doesn't own Comcast. I can't imagine having to watch 200 channels at once on TV.

While I don't really like the one ear for range and tuneable in the other, it would be better than nothing.

Ideally, we could choose No Range, Aircraft Only Range, GV Only Range or All Range.

In game voice comms in all games are terrible for some reason....some not as good as others (Aces High lags a lot more then others)

You are better off getting your squad on board to use a third party voice communication for channel then just doing Range in game.

Discord is free and almost as good as TS or Ventrillo. A lot of people in Aces High are older so in general they are stubborn about new things which makes them not want to learn things like Discord to add to the gaming experience which makes it go up ten fold with comms between squad.

Junky,

Your assertions only make sense if it is an observation that you are having no luck getting the home shopping network foeggies to all move off AH VOX and on to the third party comm you are talking about. Hitech has decided since the beginning he likes AH communications on range as a jungle comm for what ever reasons.

Why not lay this at his feet as a strictly game system choice of his versus public ageism. It makes you look petty.

First, what I'm saying would be common knowledge amongst people who play many different online multiplayer games....that in game voice comms suck in general. Anyone who disagrees with that is either A) Ignorant or B) so naive it makes them stupid on the topic...and yes AH's does lag behind more then any game I play...not a knock it's a fact.(Probably because the games I play aren't as old as the voice comms we use in game...HTC has put more effort in other areas which is what they should do....probably BECAUSE of third party communication)

My suggestion to horble to make his comms experience better instead of having one in one ear and one in the other was to use a third party for channel(for his squad channel) and range for local....which is no different then using a vox channel or squad(4) channel except it's separate from AH and is abundantly better in quality(thought it was a pretty sound suggestion honestly) and it solves the problem of figuring out which is which(one sounds better then the other....)

My last comment was actually from experience with our squad....I paid for a Teamspeak server (for 3 years???) which we ended up not using because not everyone wanted to "waste time setting it up"....5 minutes of set up and you are however many more times clearer on comms....

But yea I'm petty...

Stop reading so deeply into my posts...you know I'm just a flat out A hole(which is why I come off this way) but I do know what I'm talking about.

Telling a whole demographic who are probably the reason the bills get paid at HTC, that you feel they are (lets agree this space would get me ban hammered) in your opinion is no way to ever get them to follow your "I know what I'm talking about". All you ran into is it was not as important to them as you demanded it to be of them.

Call it like I see it...you are a shining example of what I have said...but you will let your stubbornness stand in the way of common sense.....Nobody has to like me to agree with me...in fact I could care less, I'd rather them be honest and actually discuss something then be a closed book set in its way.

Read my post up until the end where you felt personally hit at which point you called me petty...it makes sense...Am I wrong for calling older people stubborn??? I thought this was a known fact (is it a bad thing in all cases...heck no I could refer to a Ron of political things where it's a good thing but In THIS case and most when talking about video games it is a bad thing.)
