I like the night time and dawn/dusk transitions, Gets boring flying on perfect summer bluebird days all the time.
I would even like HTC to go further with weather (rain, snow, fog ) seasons (snow on the ground, icy runways, fall colors on the trees) and wind ( updrafts, downdrafts off the mountains, wind shear, crosswind landings etc)
I guess what I'm saying is that while the combat part can be challenging, the actual FLYING part of this combat FLIGHT simulator (HTC's words not mine) is way, way to easy. No engine management, auto-take off, no wind, always unlimited visibility etc.. I understand there must be some concessions, or else the learning curve would be so steep as to never attract new players, but the way it is now the flying is so easy and monotonous, it's boring.
Imagine a dogfight with rain streaking off the canopy, or getting bucked around by wind shear fighting in a canyon, or using that mountain updraft to get a jump on or escape an enemy, or after a successful sortie trying to nail a landing at an airfield with a 50' ceiling... this is the kind of thing I'd love to see.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would like the flying part to be all around more challenging/realistic. Including night time, I even wish nighttime was more varied too, sometimes a brightly light landscape under a full moon, and other times pitch black under a new moon.
Also it seems to me that HTC can't win. Players clamor for higher fidelity graphics, HTC delivers, then players complain that the increased fidelity make it more challenging.
And I bet for every player complaining about night on here, there is another who likes it, and therefore is not seeking out the BBS to complain.
