I'm not much of a TV-watcher anymore either - and perhaps more significantly, neither are my 20-something sons. Ironically, one of the main reasons I rarely watch TV anymore is because there are just too many ads for my taste. Wonder if its possible to sell ads to Netflix for inclusion in military history type programming?
I wonder if any consideration has been given to promotional giveaways - at air shows, for example, or aviation museums? Or working with a flight controller manufacturer (VKB comes to mind) to include a promo game CD in their packaging? Seems like that one would be a win-win combination - the controller manufacturer can offer a bonus to the customer at no cost to them, and AH probably gets at least a two-week trial player.
I think this ad is the best AH copy I have ever seen (IIRC it was the box cover to a European retail outlet version of the game?)
