The FMs with Il2 are very similar actualy, someone coming from il2 will have no problem playing this.

But IL2 has more advanced damage model than aces high.

Maybe they should have some type of marker by their Icon showing they are a two weeker. when they subscribe it could be removed.

I think this is a great idea! Like anything it can be abused, but I feel the community would more often than not, embrace the new player and attempt to help them.

With a bit of experience from flight sims you can do pretty well as a rookie, I had 15 kills for 16 deaths in the pony during my first 2 days as a two weeker. Reaching a k/d of 0,75-1 isnt too hard, and at that point you starts to land kills on a regular basis.

This. I wonder how similar the flight models are?

There are quite a few good sticks in IL-2 BoS, probably more than there were in AH a few years ago when guys like Grizz and Kazaa still played the game. I guess you could attribute this to the popularity of IL-2 1946 back in the day.

IL-2 is set to release updated flight models soon, and after testing them IMO they feel not the same, but pretty similar to AH. The main difference being "sense of flight".

Help them, be courteous but don't coddle them.  Of course my opinion is colored by my own upbringing in AH.  I hit the runways in May 2007 and immediately ran into the likes of Skyrock, Steve, OlDemon, Mtnman, Snailman, Ricch, DrDeath, and squads like the Muppets, Rolling Thunder, LTARS, Jokers Jokers, Claim Jumpers. The list goes on. Not mentioning any of these names as paragaons of ACM or awesome tactics but all of them were efficient killers to a noob just joining the game.  That is something no one can argue.  I never met with a trainer and was pretty much self taught.  I printed out all the charts learned all the buttons, but most of all I kept coming back for more until one day I found myself killing some of them fellas that were killing me.  They will turn the corner.  We just keep helping them up and encouraging them to come back for more fun!  :aok
