Mostly foundational controller functions have been updated to address some long standing GV control issues that benefit both PC and VR. But, they also align the controller reality with what gamers of the current generation are accustomed to. I doub't anyone realizes how overall important that fix to convoys is but, it is. The auto mode select is way over due and will cause confusion for awhile until players work it out and share with the community. Once you get the 4 modes programmed, it will be a blessing.

All of the VR work, Hitech will be in a constant programing mode for VR that he cannot ignore for the future of his product. That is a reality of how important VR is to gaming now. Though I still wonder if it's what is causing TR to be over sensitive to in game sunlight reflections from time to time causing the camera to squirrel through the views before returning to the current view direction. I've addressed external light issues inside of the TR program by setting the control for that to the maximum damping.

The gun bug for the 5in has been waiting for a fix for some time and the change to the clipboard map for zoom is simple but logical in a mouse centric world. Seems to be this patch is about control functions to make planes and GV's more convenient that some have been wished for over the years. Wish we had these years ago but, now they are needed more than ever. I'm interested in how changing the alpha mask in the gunsight will work out if it is the reflector plate on optical gunsights. I built the default gunsights for AH3 before we had the real time alpha slider in flight during the alpha. I can always release an updated pack for the game if this makes the current ones look strange. I've subsequently found green is the best general reticle color in the AH3 graphics world for all conditions and have slowly been making a "green pack".

As for the freeze-stutters, remember Skuzzy's post called the gumbo of stutters becasue Hitech could find no single bug or reason for the condition. I believe Skuzzy even mentioned that Microsoft has not been able to fix it either all this time.

I thought the big complaint would be where are the updated AH1 rides and where Oh where is the beaufighter, G.55, Meteor, Ju52, Pe2, FW-190 D13, Whirlwind...hmmmm, you get the idea..... :O

In 16 years I've never known Hitech to not be knocking his socks off programing for this game all the time.

VR seems to be the wave of the future for some of us.  I appreciate the effort HITech and his team are making to improve VR functionality in game.  I hope at some point the visual acuity in VR can be close to or equal to that of a what is seen on a monitor.  Since I don’t know what I don’t about the technical aspect of that, it will hopefully develop via Oculus and/or HiTech.

Well done HiTech and company!  :aok

Are you using VR?

I got to try it out when I stopped by to see HTC not too long ago.  The potential for it....wow.

Yes, for about 3 months now.  In flight it is the closest to reality that I’ve experienced.  The only limfac is the visual acuity.  My best description is just a tad out of focus.  Kinda like the morning after an epic party.  In GVs, I’ve found it more successful to go to the TrackIR and take advantage of it’s better visual clarity.

I've been running VR with AH for about 9 years now  :devil  - it's awesome to see the development going on.

The problem with VR rendering right now is objected are rendered on a flat plan at the same focal length. We are tricked by seeing two separate images which make our 3D image. Magic Leap have been working on some tech around this (adaptive focus).

After AH my 2nd favourite VR experience right now is Skyrim VR - once you've gone all Legolas on a bunch of bandits there is nothing like it (you shoot arrows using your two oculus touch controllers). Skyrim VR gives the first taste of big game full room vr things to come imho.

Do you teleport in Skyrim, or do you walk?  I got to try Arizona Sunshine and tried it with the walking on but when I tried to move to quickly, it made me stop the session and my equilibrium was off for about 4 hours afterward.

Once this patch comes through, there's an arcade in town that will let you install anything from steam on their systems.  I'll be giving this a try for sure.

I walk in skyrim. The only thing that is hard is I only have 2 oculus sensors, so if I turn around to far it stops seeing my hands. This is where the vive is better.

They're just working out a couple more kinks in some VR hardware stuff. Should see it shortly... (i.e. less than two weeks).

Thought for sure with this much being updated it would be a Monday or Tuesday so Hitech could be in his full bug squashing combat mode for the rest of the week..... :O

5. Added an automatic auto pilot option to turn on either auto level or auto angle when stick and planes attitude is close to level.

Totally lost the ability to set Auto Pilot. Not getting it. Wingman, Angle, Level, and Speed only works on take off. I'm not going VR (don't want anything to do with it), I've spent to much on TrackIr. None of it works anymore since update.
