    .squelch GameID
    .unsquelch GameID or ALL
.report GameID (reports abusive radio text)
.vreport GameID (reports abusive radio talk/voice)
    .vsquelch GameID
    .vunsquelch GameID or ALL

These are effective methods of solving the problem.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Dot_commands

All great information COMPLETELY unknown by new players.

Someones feelings got hurt so we should change the entire game?  Squelch, report, and or detune. Ch200 builds community, there is only one or two people really guilty of what your saying.

Deal with them appropriately as mentioned above.

I dont think it has anything to do with "feelings" getting hurt. I think its more along the line of some players antic just sucking the fun out of the game. There are players I squelch as soon as I see their name pass by on the text buffer because I just dont want to be bothered by their antics. New players dont have that ability because they dont know how. Report did someone say? Sure, most people are raised not to squeal on people so I doubt that is an avenue many use.

Its great we have these options available to use, but that is just masking the problem. Basically what they are saying is "go ahead and be an a ss, if someone is bothered by it THEN we will take care of it." Why not take care of it at the source and maybe not lose so many new players that dont know or are afraid to report the instances. We lost 1stpar3's buddy, how many others?

Correlation is not causality. In this case, it may be, but more likely the other way around. Without politics and religion on channel 1 (or 200) and without insults between players - isn't it totally boring? Isn't it so boring that there's no reason to stay?

Bring back an non-moderated channel 1!

I want to clarify why I think we need the unattributed arena.  There exists a fair amount of the population that wants the fight against other people, and the tactical leaning of a WWII game, but not the nastiness of some of the players.  I don't always play the game for social interaction, but some do.  That's why I also suggested the fur ball arena for when you feel like trash talk, and harassing one another.  <<S>>

To move on we need to admit our toxicity and come to terms with it. Even by responsing to this thread I am a bit toxic.

What happened to the raw enthusiasm that we players used to have? Why was it replaced by cynisicm?

:furious Hello everyone! I've been listening to the garbage people are gripping about on 200. Do you not think that a new person reading that garbage is affected. The reason numbers may be down is probably because you scare them off.  Kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. I have come to the conclusion that 200 should go because the jerks think their opinions matter.  They need to shut up and just play the game. I've played this game for a lot of years and really enjoy it, so shut up and play!

A number of versions back I implemented the ability to disable cross country chat. I have not yet tested it in the melee arena.

200 is not the default setting therefore if said new person has tuned into 200 A. I don't consider them new B. They must want to crosstalk and as far as far as abusive behavior.. squelch and report plus moderators..idk short of having an age restriction on 200 or disclaimer I think the 200 community is half the reason I even log in

Damn. I was on the point of proposing a pan-arena channel to improve dynamic movement between activities  :old:
