Map idea...
« on: August 31, 2018, 09:37:01 PM »
I was thinking that maybe a cool map idea would be to put all the countries city/strats in the middle of the map where we normally put fightertown/tanktown.

This would create a high risk/reward scenario for buff pilots to make a short flight where they could impact the strats, thus bringing in more fighters to defend and bomber escorts to protect and creating a snowball effect to increase the action.

Id also want to see multiple gv spawns so that gvers could spawn close to enemy cities and easily hit them, creating an incentive for gv hunters to actively seek them out rather than sit at a spawn engine off. This would create more mobile gv fights as tanks move around trying to find m4s decimating the city.

Basically this would be the inverse of the typical map where strats are sheltered and hopefully drive a centralized and intense 3 way engagement..

Thoughts?

Your idea is similar to the buzzsaw map.  On that map everyone's strat are always porked badly.  But it does create a lot of fighting.

It also creates a lot of resupplying and babysitting de-acked bases watching for sneaks.

Im thinking something even more centralized. Like all the strats basically in a single sector. Would create more 3 way engagements.

A three sided front in the center of the map would promote three way fights.  Most or all of the maps have lots of wasted space in the center.

I say a six-sided map (three countries) where each chess piece has two territories that are not contiguous.  Think WHEEL OF FORTUNE (though it doesn’t have to be a pie shape or circle).

Strats attract buffs. Buffs attract fighters. Fighters attract furballers
