Historical accuracy or not is not a reason again the radar change.

Having to scan the sky visually was an important part of the game play. That's now gone, simply keep the watching the map.
Slipping through enemies on the deck (low enough to show no icon) was a possible option. This is now gone, too.

Less variety - more boring.

Ok, there's now the new option of instrument intercepts through the clouds.

scanning the sky for neon red icons at 6k?  hardly a challenging aspect of gameplay.  might aswell turn them off completely.

Easy solution is to NOT fly with the map open. I know I almost never fly with it up, but thats just me.

Of course you don't. You've flown too much without. You'll start noticing a change in player behavior when a large part of the current players have been replaced by new players who have never played without local perfect dar.

I'm looking forward to that.   Much less whining will occur.

The notion that people are droning around with the map up all the time is kinda' silly to me.   I have it up for SA.  Quick look, put it away.  Quick look, put it away.

As long as it continues to generate fighting opportunities Im all for it. And so far, it seems to work.

Do the dar rings do anything anymore?

I've noticed no change in the # of fights between this stupid new dar setup and the old dar. I never had trouble finding fights.

Put the old dar back, or at least set up the clipboard so we can place it in a fixed point in space and have it stay open. With dummy dar I find myself opening the map much more than with the old good dar. I'd rather keep the clipboard in my virtual lap and look down at rather than open and close it all the time.

If this new dar is the way of the future we may as well have altitude/plane type/pilot name on every plane icon on the map, third person chase views and lead computing gunsights enabled in the MA. We can be the American version of Turd Thunder, but with less planes and vehicles. Already got the dar and HUD for it.

Was this new and craptacular dar the outcome of the vote a few weeks ago? Are there more players because of it?

If nobody has visual on you then they serve as they did before.

why post that you are leaving as if somehow you are the one post to change them all?

id its no longer your cup of tea just move along and stop with the dramatics.

those crying about this iteration of radar make up maybe 0.0000000001% of the population.

good god man... .

Hardly. Lots of people don't like the various dar experiments, your ".00000etc!%" population comment is hyperbole at absolute best; and an attempt to shout down dissenters to something you support at worst.
Seriously, telling people to leave the game when they care enough about it to share when something changes that they dislike--in a language they are far from fluent in, as you ought to have noticed, btw-- is your go-to option? When the game needs all the people it can get?

Posts on the BB are legitimate ways to make one's displeasure known. What got your panties in a bunch about what Blade said? Hopefully HT considers such input when he calculates which direction to take the game. Haven't seen Blade on much nowadays, btw, and he was a dependable early morning nemesis on a daily basis for months if not years.

PS--oh, I am not emphatically against the latest dar iteration. But HT really desperately needs to make a landed goon's icon not be visible when the dar at a base is up. :P

I simply responded to his "if they do X, I will leave" style of comment.

My comment still stands.

Why? Because people are lazy and want the easy button.  :bhead

the Dar is an "easy button"?  Explain?

unless you mean easier to find action. In which case why should that be hard? Hard should be killing the red guys, not finding them.  :salute

It needs to be as hard as it was in the real war........ if aceshigh is still trying to be a combat simulation. if you're looking for easy try War Thunder.

If HITEC is turning this into an arcade game then it is time for me to spend my money someplace else.
