The way you described that you don't need another parent to tell you right from wrong makes me wonder if you might be using your Dad's account for in-game and on the AH BBS, since "Electoman" has been on these message boards since 2001!

Something has definitely changed

Just thought that I should point that out

Yes - that's right and I'll happily admit it was me Waystin. I didn't know you were so fragile...but then again that's the society we live in nowadays where you need a participation trophy just for showing up. So go ahead and add that to your wall of shame.

I have no problem with being squelched - and in fact I welcome it if an individual doesn't want to see my PM's. But using the extreme of getting chat fully disabled where you can no longer chat on country, 200, PM, even so much as send a salute - that's just plain wrong.

As I said if you look at the root of the toxicity it's from the crap gameplay (beating one country to submission with few bases left...one country having to fly basically paper airplanes while guys running around in perk planes, 20 guys vulching over a field when they've already been beaten down, and the list goes on...) and the over the top mods that happens that causes the frustration yet no one bothers to look at that.

No matter - I'm likely done after this weekend because I don't need another parent to tell me what is right and wrong. If you can't take some comments and get offended by it use the squelch.
After your post it is obvious this game will be much better after this weekend.

The common denominator in your problems is you.

Thats like listening to someone in a store loudly cuss and drop F bombs in normal conversation, then get extremely upset when told to stop because they dont have the mental capacity to know that it is unacceptable to be doing that in public

Easy fix would be to stop X-country PMs. That would stop the majority of calling people names in PMs and most people, not all, do not want to look like complete morons in front of their countrymen. There are already filters for filtering out most of the words that offend people. If someone still feels the need to call out someone they would have to do it in public and hopefully the community would take care of the problem. I think it would also do away with some of the spying and giving information to the other side by PMs.

Actually the simple fix would be to follow the rules and AH TOS, which most never pay attention to

I never tune 200, but have gotten plenty of whines accusing me of the gamut of things that rude players who aren't worth the money they pay to play throw out to excuse their worthlessness. HiTech, do you really need the $15 of people like this? I say if they are chronic insulters, they should get a suspension and then if they are still the little worms that they seem to insist on being, run them off. By the way, electroman, if you have parents who are telling you right and wrong, you SURE AS HELL never listened.

Easy fix would be to stop X-country PMs.

Only problem is that prevents friends, who wish to text one on one, from doing so. Now there is a .report chat but I believe it takes 7 players to effect the mute of an offending player. Perhaps HTC could provide a .report for PMs as well...3 reports and a automatic 1 week squelch goes into effect. As with the .report chat, any misuse results in the mute of the offender.

It was never a soft skinned issue on my part.  I always laughed at these guys because it means I got under their skin.  Then I had an epiphany one day as I was sitting there with not a red guy in sight, and nothing to do in game and I thought where did all the people go (thinking back to the old Titanic Tuesdays :)).  What would it take to get more folks here?  What does it take to retain new players?  This game is highly social.  I learned everything I know through social channels-flying, driving, bombing, etc.  If the interactions a new player has are crap, they are going leave, or they are going to be the new generation of crap player.  99% of the time I bet they leave.  I don't want that to happen.  I would like them to come here, and I would like to them to stay.  Anything I see to the contrary will be called out from this point on.  I welcome friendly PM's!  But if you want to toss Toxic, get ready for the report until the cows come home.  You are not welcome here.  No more squelch from me.

people keep saying just detune 200-detuning 200 doesn't fix or solve anything, it still go's on. the 200 channel can be a fun thing funny stories-jokes, conversations, etc. those players who spill toxic trash at other players, noob or veteran. HiTech and his Mods need to get tougher on the abbreviated words-and it's not hard to figure out what they spell into. I'm no snowflake I'm not too sensitive to get my feelings hurt, it needs to stop. not just for me, for other players as well for the male players the female players the kids that might watching and listening to their parents play. until the 1st day of the cross country chat was turned off, I only reported 1 player in 10 years-now I have done so 5 or 6 time and will continue to do so. I don't want to get anybody banned but there is no reason for being mean and nasty to other players in a cartoon game with unlimited aircraft and unlimited lives.
but can make friends for life here. when I see returning players come back I tell them welcome back, no matter what country they fly for. if I get a bunch of kills in a gv or a plane and don't get to land them I don't cuss them out on 200 or by pm I just re up, simple as that, bravado and trash talk is one thing, calling people names, is bad.
