Socialism is taking from those that do and giving to those that do not. So soon no one does because... well why when you can just sit while others support you. That is till everyone is pretty much doing the same. Then there is no ability to better yourself, no reason to work harder or even work.

I think you just gave the urban definition of communism. Socialism is different in that it is more flexible and allows for blending with capitalism.

Pure socialism (government owning all production) and pure capitalism (private sector owning all production) are exact opposites -- two opposite ends of a spectrum.

In between is the government owning some production and private sector owning some production.

Communism is just socialism with government controlling who gets what.

You can mix communism with capitalism, like China.

You can mix fascism with capitalism and get crony capitalism.

All of these systems would be better if they removed the noxious pollutants of socialism, communism, and fascism.

I was looking at more papers on chloroquine and found an interesting paper that shows "NH4Cl (≥ 5 mM) and chloroquine (≥ 10 μM) are very effective in reducing SARS-CoV infection."  NH4Cl is ammonium chloride, used for, among other things, putting in livestock feed to prevent urinary-tract infections.  It's about $8/lb from feed stores and Amazon.

In the paper, ammonium chloride was just as effective as chloroquine.  The study is in vitro (testing on human cells in a dish) and not in vivo (testing on full humans).  Things are sometimes different in vivo than in vitro.  I wouldn't start taking ammonium chloride with my daily multivitamin.  But I like knowing about it in case I were in bad shape and unable to get decent treatment including with perhaps chloroquine.

I think you got a bit carried away with your definition. The UK, Germany, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand (and more) are all far left of the United States. I could argue that some are quite socialist but they still are constitutional democracies with similar rights and freedoms.
I suggest that arguing that only one extreme is the right one is near sighted. For example, unregulated capitalism is an admirable way to run the economy until you inject those that refuse to do business with honesty and integrity. And you know as well as I do how many countless examples of them that there are.

It's always beneficial to your investments to have friends with inside knowledge.  Then you can take some of those profits and re-cycle them back in as political donations.

Oh, dear.

This does indeed mean that, two months ago, the CDC couldn't start working on a PCR test and have it out before now.

Because -- even though the CDC has $7 billion a year and 10,000 staff, even though a lab of 10 guys could make a PCR test and use some $millions roll it out, and even though the CCDC and KCDC managed it -- the effect of podiumsmanship can gravely undermine the flow of events in the past.

Also, it might be that the SARS-2 virus is orange.  Some crack journalist without an agenda should look into it and publish findings in a newspaper free of the egregious level of bias that is typical of our day.

How does this relate to this topic? 

I'm just wondering how many extra 10's of thousands of Americans are going to die from our governments delayed and foot-dragging response to this epidemic while those who attended private briefings stayed silent about the threats they knew about (unless you were a potential donor), until they could first unloaded millions of dollars of stock, quite suddenly. 

I'm sure the timing was a complete coincidence.
