My Dr. Swears I had it at the end of February. I literally thought I was dying. I was told "pneumonia". I broke out like I had chicken pocks across my chest, Fever, severe chest pains and constant nebulizer use every 4 hours just to breathe.  And I still dont feel 100% after that ordeal. We are waiting on antibody testing to make its way here so she (my Dr.) can test me.

Best of luck and if you do get it, I hope you dont feel as bad as I did.

I’m fully recovered now. Frug, lungs hurt like crap for weeks. I got tired very easily - still do. Wife is feeling fine now too but she still tires easily. It felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Like hot molten in the bottom in my lungs. I will point out - my two boys, Petri dishes and symptomless. Go figure. :headscratch:

Now the question is - can we catch it again?

That’s awful man, sorry to hear that. With the exception of temporary loss of taste and smell, everyone in the house has been asymptomatic so far.

May those senses return. Even if that is your only symptoms a life would be bland(er) without them.

Not sure what to think. Wife tested negative for covid and negative for antibodies a week after daughter tested positive. Still nobody has gotten sick in our house. And we're all in each other's faces all day. Maybe false positive, maybe covid isn't so contagious after all. Or maybe we're just awesome.

That is true regardless of which way the other items go.  :aok

My sister got it a month ago and is now free from it, though she still coughs at nights - she said it was like the flu on super-steroids.
She works at a daycare center.

So you had it and your daughter has/had it, but your wife never has? Strange indeed. I suppose if someone has a more mild case, it could have less of a contagious effect, or something? Science, blah blah. :)

I never had it for certain. I just assumed that I would get it because someone I live with, eat with, and drive around with etc. tested pos. We don’t use PPE in our house or car so it came as a surprise to me that nobody else in the family tested positive for the infection or even exposure. Honestly I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t get it because I couldn’t work. Now I have too look forward to being quarantined for weeks again when I do actually get it.

Four of our mid 30's and healthy friends had it.  Two needed hospitalization, one was put on a respirator for a week. One of their kids, a 1 year old, tested positive and was hospitalized with a fever of 105.8.  They eventually recovered and went home, though still quarantined.

I had a bout with something in April that was called "probable" by my doctor, although I haven't had antibody testing yet.  It was the worst sickness I've personally had, and a month later I still have a cough and constant weakness.

It is not a joke.

It may be that you're geographically lucky.  There are two mutations of the virus.  The east coast strain originated in Europe after coming from Asia, and is much better at causing extreme sickness due to a mutation in the capsid protein that allows it to penetrate human cells better. It will infect and sicken anyone.

The west coast strain is the original virus that originated in Asia, and is much less virulent, and typically only presents in weakened immune systems and old people.

If you are living west of Alabama or so, you likely have the less virulent strain, and would not likely become symptomatic, so long as you aren't in a high risk population.

Our story really is a tale of two viruses in the U.S., something that doesn't get enough attention.

Still pretty amazing that out of all my friends and business associates, acquaintances, I know of no one that has this.
