I used a mixture in AH2 of all the available sounds for all the rides I use the most.

For now, not having real life sounds for planes is ok, but having every tank sound the same is not.

I agree the physical engine sounds I can deal with but the weapon sounds I really dislike... that and I miss having the correct stall horn for each aircraft. I just don't have the time to learn how to use FMOD and port over all the AH2 sound packs to AH3

For WWII aircraft, what “correct” stall horn are you referring to?

My guess is that the sound used wasn't a horn, but more the sound of aircraft that was shaking or rattling. That was just the name of the file and i would have no clue if those were correct. Was easier on the ears for sure and a bit more subtle.

I believe it has always been a buzz in game.

I believe it has always been a buzz in game.

In game standard has always been, but some of the old user created sound packs had something more like a vibration sound. I remember that because it wasn’t as loud as the buzz.

I do miss the sounds for each aircraft, it added immersion similar to the great skins our guys create for us.  I remember always wanting to jump in a 190/109 just because it sounded cool.

Chalenge has a great soundpack out, it was just really annoying to hear engines of enemy aircraft start up when they came into range.  Hopefully he keeps trending in the right direction with his health, and gets some time to sort that out.

I was told and have read that AH2 sounds don’t work for AH3.

I tried moving files over I used for GVs and planes and they have not worked...
They're casting their bait over there, see?

Yeah it's a no. AH3 uses a different sound system. Incompatible with the old sounds.

It can be done, but its a whole process. You have to use the FMOD program to import sound adjust timings of events and such. Then once your happy with it you have to export them to a sound group which no longer looks like sound files. 8thJinx tried doing at one time. https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,381845.0.html

Actually, the old sounds are perfectly suited for the FMOD Aces High III project file. The default base file was originally for engine sounds running at 1500 rpm, which is a perfect match.

The thing is, FMOD can do even more than HiTech is using it for. A LOT more. You can use that to create engine sounds, and other events, through a wide range of variation in all aspects of the game.

Our gaming systems are not up to the possibilities, yet.

Well that's all well and good for FMOD but this game still sound's bad compared to what it was a few years ago with plenty of custom sound packs.

Now it's so complicated no one bothers with it and we are stuck with a game that sounds like every aircraft is a cessna 152, with machine guns that sound like full auto cap guns or lazers lmao

Tell you what TH, you pay my hospital bill ($78k) and reimburse me my expenses in recording and creating FMOD sounds ($200k should do it), and I'll fix all your complaints to date.

Deal?
