PTSD before it was called that

Seems we have more death and injury from it then the actual " wars" these days

One day man will realize how to stupid the majority of them were waged and the needless suffering they created for absolutely nothing...see Iraq and Afghanistan.

They were not for nothing, howbeit the subsequent administrations didn't follow through.

Been in those countries way too long for no reason at all

All about that terrorism boogieman from 2001

We have a new boogieman which does not require bombs on airplanes and affects all religious beliefs..

Peleliu, a nasty place that could've been bypassed.  This was an image that was burned into my mind as a kid.  There is another that was in the same publication by Life I saw it in, (if my memory serves me), of a Marine with a shredded arm and face stumbling onto a beach that really made me think a lot as a child.

Sorry, but my own personal experiences demand that I take exception to your ignorance.

The Bogeyman ( / ˈboʊɡimæn, ˈbʊɡi -/; also spelled boogeyman, bogyman, bogieman, boogie monster or boogie man ) is a mythical creature used by adults to frighten children into good behaviour.

I served in three different war zones as a Special Forces Combat medic I served in Viet Nam I've seen that stare as a result of War, not something mythical. I served again on September 11, 2001, I saw it again in the faces of co-workers after escaping death in the World Trade Center, as we stood on Folton Street watching people jump to there deaths to escape the fires.  We were attacked, an act of war. Today we are challenged by a Pandemic, I see my young friends one an EMT another an ICU nurse after long shifts watching people die, I see that same stare, make no mistake it's a war zone, nothing mythical about it.  I volunteer at the local hospital, I'm still a NJ EMT. Sorry but your ignorance just pissed me off, maybe cause I was diagnosed with PTSD over 20 years ago.

Lucky everyone I know who has or had covid, it as if they have nothing or at most like a cold. Some, in some areas, it makes very ill. Many have died of other things, they just had covid too.

I know many who have had it, and some neighbors have it at the moment.

Many of them had much more than cold symptoms & some have unfortunately passed away.

I don’t think your post is downplaying it but it comes across that way when I first read it. I’ve reread it a few times now...

Bottom line is if ppl don’t want to take it serious enough for themselves, they could be decent human beings and do what they can to not spread it...
They're casting their bait over there, see?
