My wife had one done.........cardiologist used it to point out in more detail the many areas of concern within her heart, and enable him to intervene on the one(s) that needed the most urgent attention. Also said it highlights the issues that may go undetected in the microvasculature(sp?) of the heart......basically the tiny microscopic vessels that may be occluded or close to that........personally, I place little value in the stress tests normally used. She had one that showed everything was fine, then 3 weeks later had a heart attack and required quintuple bypass surgery for 8 occlusions (including the widow maker).
That was in 2014, and since that time she's had to undergo 14 heart caths with 6 stents placed.
Normal stress tests never show anything, only the nuclear stress test helped zero them in on what was causing her symptoms and issues.
