We have been without power since 2:30 am Monday. Here it is 3:39 am Tuesday... still no power. Putting more logs on the fire. Temps have been below 30 and into the teens the whole time. We had snow and ice storm.

When this is over, Generac will be getting my business for a full home power backup generator.

I asked HiTech if had a Generac system. They do come in handy if only used once in ten years.

Hope your staying warm shuffler

The living room stayed 56 to 60 degrees with the fireplace going and it being down to 15 degrees outside.

Power back on at 11:58am. Still no water. Just over 32 hours with no power sub freezing.

There's at least 30 gallons of water in a 40 gallon water tank you should be able to get. Depending on the water heater whether it is a 40 or a 50 gallon tank it is usually 10 gallons less than the max. make sure you open a faucet to vent the water lines.

Opened all the lines.... drained to the lowest. Four hours after power on, water came back. Water poured into my office and ceiling collapsed. Seems there was a 90 and it sat a little low there so all the water sat in that belly. It froze and broke.

Ceiling collapsed with all that water on my new build machine, several grand. My 200 plus Corsair mechanical keyboard, 200 plus headset. My CH controls. My cordless gaming mouse and Xbox controller..... and my server..... and my 40" monitor I had just switched back to.

This puts me out of the next Scenario. I am pissed

Power back off again this evening for 2  1/2 hours.

The people at ERCOT should hang from a tree.

Yes one busted in attic. Found another today in wall... guest bathroom close to outer wall... I think. Will know tomorrow. Have my builder coming. Maybe we will have water then. I know many people with busted lines. They all drained pipes because the idiots at ERCOT turned power off.

In 62 years I have never had them turn my power off on a freezing night.

Your not alone. A good friend I play DCS with lives in Dallas and the fire sprinkler system in his condo burst ruining everything. He was asleep in a Mummy sleeping bag when it happened. had to go out on his balcony to call the fire department.
