It was 2 weeks.

I’ve searched for that post/thread, even using advanced search I’m not finding it. If you found it please share with me.  I’m not sure how you can say that I tried to make a political post way back that long ago, unless you found it and re-read it.  Or you have the memory of an elephant…

That’s not how I remember it, but you’re welcome to prove me wrong if you can.

the post is gone.  replaced by rule#xxx, my guess.

anyway, back then post from YouTube would be deleted if the comments on YouTube were against ht rules. my guess based on what hitech wrote back to you is the link or maybe comments had some sort of political blaming. I sort of vaguely remember back then how it was a big political thing.

The term mod in my high school days referred to people who wore bizarre clothing, tried to present themselves in strange/out of the norm ways and rode Vespas.

Many wore lots of, if not all black clothing and makeup, later many like that were called “Goth”

Yes, I figure, they were abused.

A bit different in the 60s :) You young folks missed out on that :)

It was merely an online “news” article. Could have been anything from The NY Times to Fox News, I don’t remember, possibly even from the AF itself or Wall St. Journal…just don’t recall.

Skuzzy was the moderator, not HT for my post based off of his email back to me and the initial notification that I wasn’t allowed on the bbs for 2 weeks.

The thread was locked, but I don’t recall it being deleted.

Anyhow, the point related to this thread is without a single warning I got 2 weeks and felt it was a bit much given my ignorance to rules violations.

After that I saw Dolby (among others) receive many mutes and learned from him vaguely where the lines not to be crossed were.
They're casting their bait over there, see?

Indeed, while I can study as much history as I want about the 60’s, there’s no substitute for living present in those times.

My high school days were ‘90-‘94, sure lots of things exciting things happened in those years. However, some decades like the ‘60’s just seem like they had more significant US and world events.

I didnt get a warning when I got banned for 30 days. not even sure why, perhaps it was political or maybe no, but I trusted that skuzzy was a fair man.  if he said you posted something that was political, then that's it.

based on your own posts, I deducted it was political.  spin it anyway you want. not sure why you bring it up after many years.  once I got muted for posting that my buttt was nicer than anybody elses, i laughed. because after a warning I posted that ah didnt want me to talk about how nice my butttt was. got a 30 minute time out.

You know what they say, "If you really remember the sixties, you probably weren't there."  Of course, in south Georgia back then about the worst you could get into was pot and Alice Cooper.

I was 12 in 1970, so I missed both the hippies and the war in Viet Nam, but I can clearly recall the events of the civil rights movement (we were 35 miles from Albany, Georgia, where MLK, Jr. got locked up just for being black) and I remember such things as JFK and Bobby getting shot.  It was a tumultuous time, indeed.

I watched the whole JFk funeral procession on TV. Remember it well.

Quite the change of topic, but I'd love to have a shin dig with some of you all. I've learned through my few years some of my favorite stories came from my grandpa - and his friends. Just sit in a big room with about 20 of you, cigars(spiked and unspiked) and bourbon, just listening.

One of my first few memories online was logging on at about 12 years old and listening to an actual ww2 vet tell a story about a mechanic of the p-51 to the 49'ers. Wish I would've valued that moment a little more and paid attention, but. I talk a lot of smack because it's the gaming generation I'm of, it's what we do. even the guy I cursed to high heaven, i don't wish bad upon him, and i'd share a beer with him.

As a child, some of my fondest memories were sitting on the porch and listening to the stories from our more elderly visitors. I traveled a lot as a child and remember doing this on many occasions all over the US and in other countries like Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Oh man I could imagine. After my grandfather left the air force, they became like "peace corps"? I don't remember what he called it, but for about 30 years their life spending's and savings went towards taking in people out of town, getting them a buss pass, food, clothes, etc. I would've loved to been around and hear some of the stories / meet some of the people. It's crazy the things you probably heard.

Not currently "in-game".  But played it long enough to see plenty of twits like you.

Hm. I see.
