If this does anything it is a wakeup call to how unhealthy most of us are

Saw you online last night Peanut1 - glad you are feeling that well so soon

I never trusted these things. It says for my height I should be between 140-189. When I got out of the service 40 years ago I was 192 which they call "over weight" I should post a picture from back then, I looked sick I looked so underweight.

I know Im over weight now, but Im not "obese". These thinks are just sooooo far off sometimes.

Oh really, well since you’ve worked in the ED (“ER”) and have so much experience please enlighten us some more.

I have worked ED and Obs, but you know better than all of us about everything.

And since you do, I’m sure you’re quite aware MI’s can happen with a good and stable BP and regular looking EKG, right?

been going to the er for years complaining of chest pains.I live right next to the biggest hospital around. ekg was always taken right away then sent right back out, to wait.  ekgs were always normal.  except last year stared feeling chest pains playing the game, scared the hell right out of everybody on range, wife is a nurse called an ambulance. ekg was given in my living room. when I heard oh crap, I knew it was bad.

but you are right I have no experience.

You have experience as a patient. You may have more insight than the average person, however it’s NOT a substitute for study, training and then clinical work experience.

Your wife is different, she has clinical work experience…

Which arrhythmia were you in when they (paramedics?) took your ekg?
They're casting their bait over there, see?

I was  vaccinated also by choice due to my heart issues. I tested positive for  Covid and I was barely around large groups my wife works at the Highschool as a cook and she always tested negative. 2 Of my 3 kids tested positive while in quarantine also In Highschool and I was the first to test positive. 13 years as working as a paramedic for a hospital based medic unit I was forced to get the flu shots so I could keep my job each year they could never get the correct strain and I got the flu every freaking year with the shots. With these Covid shots I had both pzier shots got Covid and now Leary on these boosters. If I am going to Die it’s my terms and will choke what shots I get in the future

At least they are recognizing natural immunity as a path forward as they slowly realize that the shots didn't do what they were initially advertised they would

Most ppl who indicate overweight and obese by BMI standards are.

We have been overweight so long normal weight now looks skinny.

Athletes are an exception but few fall into that category

Too bad they didn't use this event as a call to healthy living by restricting our bad habits...I mean if they can pay you to stay home and not work I would think they can pay you not to eat that big mac and maybe burn a calorie or two..

Free treadmills for all ... instead of stimulus checks .. would have been better in the long run :)

I think both Pfizer and Moderna were found to have around 90-95% effectiveness preventing infection from Covid.  Single dose J&J was lower at around 65% effectiveness IIRC, but had the advantages of requiring only a single dose, plus not having to be kept very cold while in storage.

Remember these findings were for the Alpha variant only - this was before Delta, then Omicron, and now BA.2.    I've read Omicron is described as a "Frankenstein" version, with 50 mutations, 30 of which occur on the spike - which I believe determines how transmissible it is.   That's asking a lot of a vaccine to prevent against a variant with so many differences from the original.

Regarding natural immunity, note the first death from Omicron in the U.S. was a reinfection - an unvaccinated 50yr old male from Texas who'd already had Covid:

Covid Sucks !!! I was vaccinated by choice due to my heart and lung issues. I was feeling like crap no fever and I barely go out much except for local store trips . I was having sinus pressure and could not hear so I went to urgent care never had a fever or anything so the ran the nose picker test for flu variants and Covid and Dam I test Positive for the Rona. I worked In prehospital for 30 years been exposed to the swine flu h1n1 flu and God knows whatever crap I came across to me Covid is another flu variant and if you go to the hospital like me for chest pains which I have a severe cardiac history and if shall die while there due to heart issues they will chalk it up to A  Covid death . So we will never know ever the true stats of the Covid  Virus  and they will come up with more variants just to scare us longer and not let us live ours lives like we used to . I am happy thought that everyone who had minor to mild symptoms survived and can live another day but I am getting tired of being told I have to wear mask here and not their that mask topic is totally another topic

Vtach, SVT, Rabid Afib, Torsades, Asystole?

Probably just a Stemi on the 12 lead.
