Fighter to fighter kill streaks
« on: March 16, 2022, 12:59:14 PM »
Over at WB there was a way that they posted kill streaks. Don't remember how they did it. Whether it was the  current streak or best streak.

I attempted and succeeding in a twenty kill run. After 10 I was ready for the rubber room. Stress level through the roof. Not for me.

So one tour a new guy showed up named Pegasus.

As time went on, Pegasus's streak increased and people started talking...Does anyone know this guy ??

Over that tour he ended up with a 236 kill streak...

If I remember correctly he flew an A8.

With my twenty I was heavily medicated, have no idea how someone could do that.

The board went crazy. Who is this guy ?????

When the tour concluded he was gone. Never to fly again.

Some thought it was Wulfe, some thought it was Scop.

Never found out who it was. I think Steve and his Pony reached 60 but no one even came close.

My bet was Wulfe because the A8 was his ride but he denied it.

Never found out who he was.

As far as I know there is no way to keep a tally here with this scoring system.

It depends on how they were scoring the ride. If they only used "fighters" while flying the streak and used "attack" to just have fun and avoid the "losing my mind" syndrome, you could find it in the scoring.

How many kills in row with no deaths, bails, ditches, or captures. Could be 100 sorties, could be 10, doesnt matter

Haha its tough to say. I think Fester holds the montly record from what I have heard. Grizz holds the record for most in 1 sortie. My best was 127 before I lawndarted from 18k black out  :furious

It's tough to do now in AH because of lower #s and more spread out fights on big maps. You have to have a lot of time to play to get 200 kills without dying. It's a very timid and boring way of flying. There are times when you want to turn around and go fight, but you know your plane cannot afford to get low n slow in a situation so you have to extend.

The question is why. Why would anyone want to do it?.

Sounds as exciting as watching grass grow...

Hope I don't run into someone trying to set a record like that as it would be a very boring fight if he stuck around and fought at all...

Sadly with the larger maps and spread out bases with limited red planes and limited playing time - many times just flying back to base to land your kills is too much time to take

I used to play for these streaks back in the 2008 to 2010ish range.  I think I made it to like 121 before dieing once. This is a different game now, and I'm a different player.  The boring factor heavily outweighs the fun factor.

And like mentioned above, it really requires flying like a complete wuss.

You were barely out of diapers back then. You felt you had all the time in the world. Funny how a few years can make a difference.  :neener:

if i remember correctly score display would show kills accumulated since last death/ditch etc.

I remember some pony drivers doing streaks 100+, but like eagler says - sounds horribly boring :)

I tried it couple of times, my ADHD wouldn't let me finish ...

For me.... the urge to to see how many times I could fly my 38J inverted through enemy hangars was usually my downfall. I can remember me, Corkyjr, and others doing this on occasion.
