I'm not old, but I'm not young either. Never in my life have I seen so much fear being perpetuated over every illness and disease. In decades past, we lived life as normal - flat out normal, regardless.

Gone forever are those times when people were smart.

only people that I know that were afraid are those who got infected and were real sick.

So you start a thread with same title and topic as one that was just locked.
Words fail me to describe that but considering the source its predictable.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

For those of us that don't swing that way it is a non issue

Quote from:  CDC
Monkeypox spreads in a few ways.

Monkeypox can spread to anyone through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact, including:
Direct contact with monkeypox rash, scabs, or body fluids from a person with monkeypox.
Touching objects, fabrics (clothing, bedding, or towels), and surfaces that have been used by someone with monkeypox.
        Contact with respiratory secretions.

This direct contact can happen during intimate contact, including:
Oral, anal, and vaginal sex or touching the genitals (noodle, testicles, labia, and vagina) or anus (butthole) of a person with monkeypox.
        Hugging, massage, and kissing.
        Prolonged face-to-face contact.
Touching fabrics and objects during sex that were used by a person with monkeypox and that have not been disinfected, such as bedding, towels, fetish gear, and sex toys.

A pregnant person can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta.

It’s also possible for people to get monkeypox from infected animals, either by being scratched or bitten by the animal or by preparing or eating meat or using products from an infected animal.

A person with monkeypox can spread it to others from the time symptoms start until the rash has fully healed and a fresh layer of skin has formed. The illness typically lasts 2-4 weeks.

Scientists are still researching:

If the virus can be spread when someone has no symptoms
How often monkeypox is spread through respiratory secretions, or when a person with monkeypox symptoms might be more likely to spread the virus through respiratory secretions.
Whether monkeypox can be spread through semen, vaginal fluids, urine, or feces.

Yeah this is like 99% of deadly diseases. This will not spread like COVID does. COVID could spread rapidly through the air and linger for hours in enclosed areas. I don't touch other people very frequently, and not for very long. Plus, I'm single at the moment. So I think I'll be just fine.

This sounds a lot like Ebola from a few years ago. Haven't heard anything about that in ages, it was just the news media doing their best to cause confusion and fear.

And nobody will say or point blame on the offending group that is spreading the disease because of the outcry that will happen

Spread through contact…contact precautions in a clinical/medical setting are the lowest.

Pretty easy to avoid contact when the right precautions are taken.

How much plainer do you want me to put it?

only risky behavior is you believe you won't get it. which you may or may not.  much like aids changed everything in the 80s.

Sounds like you’re worried, maybe shut down California again.  You can also put a mask over pants.
