Pretty cool, Arlo.   I guess it just wasn't cost effective against diesel?

Ford's corporate identity color is blue - interesting that they named this project "Big Red"...

Just might been too expensive to mass produce. Big Blue sounds just as cool to me ... unless this was involved:

I don't think a lot of drivers go with those giant sleeper cabs because it limits the amount of weight they can pull. I believe that's correct. They would have to be new laws or something like that thing.

And who in the hell is going to load the soda dispensers in the drink dispensers? Lol. That seems like more of a pain in the bellybutton than anything.

And the driver is sitting in a death trap. Ready to be launched through that front window and eat the steering wheel. Lol.

Gina it all depends, if you haul short distance no need for sleeper trucks. my brother is a driver he has one as it saves on hotels. he has bunk beds, 27in TV and game console, along with DVD and laptop to play online games. he only steps out basically to take a shower and go to the bathroom
.

there's a couple of guys who play the hand while living out of a truck.

The trucks have a maximum gross weight. I know a truck driver and he told me that most people would rather make more money in cargo capacity rather than lose a lot of that with a big sleeper cab or a big fancy rig.

Big Red looks like it would be massive. Probably not legal unless they changed the laws

they get paid by the mile.  they also get paid by the hour for short in city deliveries or salary.

my brother delivers trucks to whoever ordered them.  3 it 4 I believe at a time.  also cargo.  just called him.  he says your friend is nuts, nobody delivers if pay is based on weight, unless you are a town truck.

There is a maximum gross weight limit. If you get a giant extended cab then you can haul less cargo. You can make less money. You will pay more for fuel.

But my frien

Also, my friend was an independent truck driver not some swift driver that makes minimum and by the hour. You get paid by the load as well. But you probably didn't know that.

getting paid by the load is a local job. I have a friend that has a local school and also does shipping.
