So sad.  Ack-ack was a central figure in the Bigweek news group, not to mention being AH's master 38 driver.  He helped a lot of people with their CH equipment, and had superior insight into all things related to online gaming and online people.

I suppose we'll be getting more and more bad news like this, but I don't think we'll ever get used to it.

I had many the joust with him, verbally and in the air.   He was a worthy opponent.    I'm sorry for your loss and wish him godspeed.

I'd known Ack-Ack since AW days and while we didn't always see eye to eye I don't think we every truly got angry with each other. On Flamewarriors I'd quote him and then replace what he said with a .gif, I only hope he saw the humor in what I was doing and didn't get angry.

My family and I send our condolences Zmy.

I signed on this morning and was shocked to read this.

I had many enjoyable hours flying with Ack-Ack in our 38s. Those were great times. Sad to hear he has passed. Prayers for the Family.

No words... ack-ack is a name I've seen for the better part of 15 years.
I have fond memories of going down in a bright ball of fire and twisted metal from the guns on his P38. If there was ever a man to truly master his craft there could be no argument from anyone here who that was, his skill in the 38 some may consider divine.

I'm sure he's up there schooling everyone on history

Dammit all.... this one cuts deep

Ack-Ack was the first person I ever spoke to over the phone back in the mid 90s when we were playing AirWarrior and I needed help on my ch controller...

Many dogfights over almost 30 years with and against my brother

I was the one who invited Ack-Ack to come check out FR in AirWarrior, when I asked him which arena he played in and said RR..

I told him he have a better experience of the game...

Brings tears 😢...

My condolences 🙏 for your loss and our loss of a valued member of this family...

Sincerely,

TC  / Johnny

You know, he was also a great shot with that big canon in the B-25. we'd be flying and he'd get into one of those to pop GV's.

He was so laid back and intelligent. He used to crack me up with his stories of notorious players in AH past. He had such a great memory for everything that happened in AH and even AW. I was hoping to get him to come back to AH recently.

I know he had some health problems but I thought he'd gotten past them. I don't know if he ever made it up to Tahoe, but that's where they were thinking about moving.

It's so sad and I'm going to miss him. I knew him for maybe 20 years.

Could her name be Amy?   I can see how she may have hit Z instead of A in her grief.
