I had a 66 Bug that I almost killed myself in a hundred different times. I wouldn't mind getting another one and and doing it up Cali style...

(Image removed from quote.)

I think my two most favorite cars were my bugs. The 69 I had I got cheap because it had a blown engine . bought a rebuilt with a sweet cam in it with some pipes that came out the normal spot but turned out under the bumper. They were like "glass-packs" from the old days. I had the idle down so low you could count the "thumps" as it fired each cylinder.  :D

Second one was a 72 Super bettle with a bit of custom work I did on it. Just had a 1600 with a single carb, but it was as much fun to drive as the other one.

Ya but he said GM built. I know there were plenty of front drivers made,Cord had one too but they aren’t Gm’s

The horse and buggy could be considered front drive as well…..

I've got a new choice for me:

I'd like my buddy to have his Ford GT from several weeks ago to replace how it is now.  :(

1979 Z/28–My first F-body, over the 5 years I owned it did a lot of mods and experimentation.  Finally ended up with a rectangle port 454, 200hp nitrous set up, TCI 3500 stall converter, and a TCI TH-350.  Lotsa fun in that thing in all forms, from the initial Bow tie head 406 small block with a 4 speed Muncie to the big block.  Lotsa memories there….
1979 Trans Am—Bought pre-internet, found the original build and sales documentation in the glove box.  Somehow, I doubt I could do it without internet now, I tracked down the original owner who told me his story of buying it in NJ and moving to Dallas two days later, then selling it to his brother in law inWichita Falls, who removed the factory 4 speed and converted it to automatic.  Research showed it to be a fairly rare car with the Pontiac 400, 4 speed, color, and T-tops.  Traded it to a kid for his 1986 Monte Carlo SS; he then wrapped it around a tree less than a week later.  Stupidly, I turned down an offer from the original owner to buy the car from me at three times what I paid for it.   Stupid, stupid, stupid………
1968 Chevy C10-My first vehicle, bought from my paternal grandfather.  Long narrow steps ode bed, 307 engine, 4 speed with granny 1st gear.  No a/c, manual windows, etc…….as plain Jane as they come.  But that truck would be the one Inwish I had again, for sentimental value.

Fortunately, following crash, he is OK, and car isn't totalled.  But there is a lot of damage.

Wagon got new tires and now have to replace axles, bearings, and rear brakes.

Infiniti gets a lower compression piston/head combination so I can have a hope of running 87 at low boost and 400hp at high boost.

I can't pick just one. Most of the cars I've owned I would like to have now in one form or another. My first car, a 1962 Oldsmobile F85 Cutlass, My first truck, 1960 F100, 2wd, short box that I dropped a 390, and a 4 gear into. I drove that from CA to TX after HS graduation. It had a leaf sprung, solid front axle. That was 1983, it was quite the adventure. A 1968 F100, short box, that I dropped the aforementioned 390 and 4 gear into. A 1974 Toyota Celica notch back, That was a very fun canyon carver. The 1990 Mustang 5.0 was a lot of fun bone stock. I'm kind of fond of my current 1991, F350 4x4 std cab that a put a P-pumped 12v Cummins in. And then there are others that I would like to have that I never personally owned, but have experienced in one form or another.

So maybe just one for each day of the week, plus two on Sunday.

If I'm dreamin' I'm gonna dream big.
