No offense taken. We see it the same. We do not care about content, just pay us our money.

We are conditioned to not care who is up there nor what they do. The entire entertainment industry, while we take production seriously, its all a clown show of plastic people. They could put an ant farm on stage, I don’t care. <shrug> its work.

Jason Isbell is one of my favorite songwriters of this generation.  I saw he performed at the DNC, so I'm sure that was a treat. I haven't watched yet.

Yeah, without getting political, most of his fans worship him and his political ideology.  I just like his music (which isn't really country), and he's a hell of a guitar player.

Several years ago, I was with Jason for hours in a room setting audio for his first major cd release at a press conference. Pretty sure “ If We Were Vampires” was on it. Just me, sound gear, him and his guitar.. we sat for hours just hangin and talking.  Had a fast food lunch. It was at McCormick Place , Chicago. Very normal grounded guy. Don’t know how he is now, but real easy to talk to. Kinda made a friend. Didn’t seem like biz at all. I like the guy as a person.

My view from where I have coffee and cig outside, inside looking out.
After 3 layers of security, bkg check, verified work assignment, 2 layers of IDs, SS body check. Even a check point to park.

Outside perimeter is City police, in front of the barrier is county police, inside right behind me is a literal army of SS, not taking pics of that.

This is why inside events are much safer for those VIPs. Outside your mileage will vary. The fence barrier goes for miles around the venues.

They did come in handy at United Center tho.

We have several marketing shows that come to the city where they bring in dogs, metal detectors…etc

Then I say, “I wonder who they ripped/pissed off.”

Its not just politicians who need security. A lot of orgs screw people/companies out of millions.
