Apparently if you reported him in game you got banned, which is very counter productive for reporting toxic players.
Yup, happened to me too. I probably just won't bother to play for (7.2 days) now.
Context for the ban: gldnbb is one of the very few truly toxic people playing the game. Doesn't use foul language, but posts false accusations about other players' motives as a matter of course (Osmium is trying to sabotage the team so bish can win" etc) and has hissy fits if his strategic visions for the team are not followed. A squaddie and a friend were rook when I logged on so I switched over to rook to fly with them. BB was in full rant mode against Haggerty, and two or three players besides the three of us were clearly also annoyed by it and said so on country. The suggestion was made to report him and I agreed and did so. Maybe five minutes later I was "ejected" from the game, and now I find I can't communicate with fellow players for a week.
Doesn't that seem both excessive and counter-productive? I didn't knowingly violate the terms of "Report Gldnbb chat"--I don't even know what those terms are, honestly. And I can't remember the last time I reported a player's chat. I just had had enough--as had others--and wanted to make a statement in that regard. And now HiTech is apparently making a statement that reporting a toxic player is emphatically unwelcome?
I'll probably check in on occasion to see if my ban has been lifted. If it hasn't...well, when I log in in my morning there are typically ~20 players on, nearly half of whom are afk. I communicate a lot of country and 200 and like to think I add value to the game when numbers are so low. One less non-prime time player is going to make the game even more boring and dead that time of day. I'm guessing Picko got the ban, too, and he's the primary guy who makes the game dynamic and fun then unless you count the Tropical Thunder horde. If he's gone, too..?
Really seems short-sighted, doesn't it?
Oh, well.
