I want to play AH in about 2010 again. I think we all do.

That would be rad, I could have all my hair back.

Ca. 1944: (Image removed from quote.)

I guess the idea was as the main fighter command base guarding the Eastern approach to London  they needed to be able to launch boat loads of spits fast to give them time to climb to alt to intercept bombers!

When we compare AH attrition rates in B of B to the real deal I think "The Few" brave as they were wanted to blow some ammo and get home asap. The Battle of Britain AH would have lasted about 3 days but still with an allied victory.

Aces high is the best balance between realism and arcade!! It’s not slow and overwhelmingly hard to control your plane or engine like in DCS or IL2, but not so arcade-like and fake like war thunder. I would be happy if the tanks were updated to model a little more like WoT, but that’s the only thing I can complain about here

I think 2010 AH could easily be back, it’s just a matter of advertising and getting a team together again to push updates. You can easily compete against something like war thunder with the simple prospect of no micro transactions to get those uber better planes, just no one knows about the game

"best balance" is of course personal preference. Personally I never wanted a balance.

arcade-like and fake like war thunder.

I hear this so much that I feel I have to comment as I have extensive eperince in WT and IL2 GB and want to make sure people are getting accurate info.
Warthunder SIM battles is more like IL2 or DCS then AH3.

There is a mode caled "Arcade" battles but there is also "Realistic" and "Simulator" modes.

Arcade is as it is named.

Realistic is closet to AH3 with icons and all with the exception of additonal task like engine temp management.

Simulator battles is very close to IL2 in that there are no icons until under 1k in the air and no icon on ground vehicles at all. There is no AWACS, there is no auto trim, engine/temp management is required.
