Interesting.

I wonder if they can model the nuclear exchange that would follow.

And then China jumps in on Pakistan's side and attacks India from the other direction too.

There is some disputed territory it wanted anyway.

That would be a goat rodeo.

The answer I think is if India decided to kick Pakistan's butt, don't kick it too hard.

Assuming that goes down (video) in a vacuum it seems like a likely scenario. There are other players on the board though and things may get a lot more complex very fast.

Someone attacks with a nuke and all bets are off.

Looks like India is going to do a little more this round. Doubt that it will come to nukes.

Or at least the aliens will neutralize the nukes if one side gets too frisky.

I don't think it's likely either. I was just saying that if there was a full out air war (like the one in the video) and one side lost their entire air force allowing the other country to bomb them at will it might make one side desperate enough to push the button.

I think both sides have quantity over quality. Seems modern air war is missiles but in other scenarios I have seen above all stealth. F22/35 has fired its missiles and on the way home long before 4th gen and earlier fighters know what is happening. China and Russia just don't have that kind of tech fortunately for the USA and its friends. I hope it stays that way.

I don't understand the politics but I think India is notionally a democracy and Hindu and Pakistan's government is by permission of the army. I also read there are more Muslims in India than Pakistan.

The obvious solution might be Kashmire as an independent nation but I doubt India or Pakistan would not be able to resist continuing to interfere. In the long run India will win as it is very open for business and Pakistan allot less so.

Ok its a bit political but I don't think anyone on here will get in a froth over it  :D

Let me start off by saying that I know nothing about modern air warfare.

It seems to me that tactics could overcome technology. Say I'm in an a4 and have to fight something more modern. I would try to get them to lauch missles at their max range making it more easy to avoid. I would also try to fight them over friendly SAM sites. I would fly toward the enemy at max speed, reverse and drag them over friendly SAAM sites. Use single a4 on the flanks to sneak in while they are chasing the main force over the SAM sites. I just get the feeling that technology alone is not the decider. Maybe I'm wrong.

If you're in an A-4 you'll never see the missiles coming.

Ok, bad choice of planes. Anything modern but not state of the art. Something with an RWR.
