Cutting weapon lethality by 1/3 or 1/2 would make this worth attending.

As it sits, it's a sped up MA with airspawns and 12 pilots for an hour.

The alt cap and necessity to saddle for a kill shot would probably have most of you pretty sore in whatever muscles a joystick uses.

For what it's worth, I think lethality in the MA is entirely too high too. Requiring more time in sight = better fights and less easy picks.

Im sure most of you would disagree, but the fact you can't fight your way out of a wet toilet paper handbag kind of proves my point.

KOTH rounds were always much more interesting and fun with smaller less lethal ammunition. Those D3A rounds were a great example.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Actually I think Lazerrs’ idea is a great one. Definitely worth trying at least once to see how it goes.

Tag Puma you’re in .

Listen Shane… I know you feel like you get ganged up on a lot, whether it be in the game or on the boards or wherever..  but your “location”, Sig lines, and overall attitude towards everyone really doesn’t help your case, and I’m trying to say this in a nice way. Cause we all, you and me and SNO and Jaeger and Puma, and literally everyone else still here, are the last of a dying breed. We all share an interest in this type of sht that has basically fused with our souls… otherwise we wouldn’t still be here.

How about you, and me, and SNO, and the entire Aces High community for that matter, current players and former players, cause they’re still here too… how about we all just have a little more respect for each other. The real WW2 pilots, they did what we do… except for realsies, but they respected one another while they did it, They had honor still.. you know?

My point is… let’s just call it square, everyone.. on everything and let’s just enjoy the friendships and rivalries we have all created over so many years of flying and dying together.

Why don’t you join us for an FSO sometime, who knows.. maybe after fighting together instead of against each other for once, maybe we will understand one another a little more.

I Like the proposal.... :salute

This is sound advice.

I've known Shane since he was Oopsy, back in the AW and the Bigweek newsgroup days.  Met him at WWII weekend, with Mosca, decades ago.  He's grouchy, as everyone knows, and he has his reasons, but he has a good heart.  I'm glad to be able to call him my friend.  Just the same, Jaeger and Puma, in particular, are some of my virtual best buds.

To wit:  There's no good reason for the MNM people, who I consider to be the cream of this game, to be mad at each other over something silly like this.  Could we please just drop it?

Well, ok then.

I was introduced to the AvA early on and fell in love with the no icon concept that was in effect then.  Such a great real world simulation. So wish we could go back to that but, I digress.  Even then, HOing was strongly discouraged, which made it even more appealing.  As we all know, HOing is a common tactic used by many in the MA.  From observation, it seems that is the only lethal move that many players have because they are BFM deficient.  BFM is the core of a fighter pilots tool kit, back then and still today.

So, on to the Shane HO issue.  Every MNM there are inadvertent HO events.  The vast majority of players “own it”, apologize, and move on.  When that single HO happens and it’s accidental in the heat of the knife fight, that understandable and most of us move on.  But, when the same player HOs once, then twice, and maybe more in the same sortie.  That’s unacceptable, desperate behavior by someone without BFM skills, or just going for the easy cheap shot because of being to lazy to work it behind the 3/9 line.  There have been a small number of players that resort to that kind of play.

Shane’s frequent use of the HO is well known.  When called out, he argues, starts the name calling, whining, and complaining.  The regulars in the AvA are well aware of it.

So, yeah Shane I HOed you, intentionally, as explained above.  Save time and don’t bother posting film to prove it.  And, in the future, expect the same if you want to play the HO game.

In closing, if you intend to respond with some of your snappy name calling, don’t bother.

The AvA is a fantastic place to get away from the irritants of the real world and have fun.  So, let’s all do the fun part.  :salute

Check six, gentlemen!  :bolt:

I always call out, and after a certain number of them, start giving back.  I pay attention to text ch 223... From all appearances, I'm the only one calling them out on 223, so it seems I'm the only one getting HO'd.

I've never gotten, "hey shane watch the HO or front quarter."  If you're calling me out on vox 223, that's on you because I don't do vox.

You and rascal were taking so many front quarter shots that I wasn't - you've been key in this whole situation and a big reason why I film now.  Let's not forget all the jousting collisions because I stopped moving out of your way.  SNO is another one who takes jousting too close for collisions.

All these bogus claims of me constantly hoing and whining is getting tiresome as you people make claims but don't back them up. It's straight up lying.
There's barely time to type at all, so at most you'll see me quickly call out mind your ho or ask Jaeger to remind people to mind their shots.  Countless films disprove your bs.

Trust me, I don't need to take HO or sketchy front quarter shots to shoot you people down.  Eagler and I have many funs fights without taking them - ask yourself why (protip: I give what I get.) I have plenty of MNM films where I don't take these shots. Plenty of MNM films of being HO'd and rammed, tho' - and films of me returning them.

As an aside that speaks to how you play in MNM, you're always turning back hard into me (or whoever, I guess) hard trying to get into HO aspect to save your weebsauce - many do that in MNM, you're just upset I started pop you before you totally make it. And when you do, I have to decide if I want to move out of the way of the impending collision - I stopped doing that, too.

Your passive-aggression gets you nowhere with me. Get better.

And no one has ever apologized for a HO on me unless I called them out, and barely even then - usually Jaeger will, or Mols, none of the rest of you.

As we have all agreed here to hold fire until behind the 3 to 9 line going forward, this misunderstanding seems to be resolved ...

Have a great day and see you in MNM!

I'm all on board with that, but how many MNM "players" like Puma aren't gonna be able to actually do it and end up breaking the rules again and again?

And I will call out and post films of violations going forward. And I bet get called whiner when I point out this weebsauce inabilty to read plane aspects? Or have it excused off by... inepitude, ignorance or a simple "oops?"  Nope, the door for "oops" just got closed.  :rofl

Gonna be hilarious.

I would think the HO restriction should be limited to the beginning of the engagement. Once the initial pass is made you may find yourself in front of the enemies 3/9 line at some point and you got there by maneuvering. Anyone who has played this game more than a few weeks should have the SA to know when the fight is on.

You've obviously never played MNM?  The assumptions it's like a "duel" is 100% misleading, which is why there's a level of snap judgement calls that many fail to make appropriately and is behind the issue at hand.

Maybe watch this to get an idea:  https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,408702.0.html

In that thread is a 7 min youtube video (Jan '24) showing what MNM looks like with the fog effects that don't show up on ahf. <Look at all the HOs and whinging I'm doing!!>

This was also before air starts were added; this addition has made the action more frequent/intense.  This was about when the LCS was enabled, it's not as magical as one might think, but is helpful. The fog layer down low that day was set a bit thicker than ususal.

I never liked artificial rules which can be ambiguous and interpreted differently. Some will take advantage. Others will lose any edge trying to ensure they comply.
