When I was young most didn't have health insurance. Routine care was affordable. Now you get fined if you don't pay for unaffordable insurance. College was a lot more affordable then too. What happened in those industries? Unrestrained greed?
The federal government became heavily involved in both.
There is nothing that the federal government cannot make more expensive, less efficient, less effective, and less desirable.
The "affordable care act" made health insurance ten times more expensive in less than ten years.
It took longer for college tuition, but tuition is more than ten times as high as it was when I went. Now less than 50% graduate, and less than 50% who do, get a job requiring a degree.
