Sorry but you are not living in reality. I understand the hate the guy gets, but to say he wasnt a great stick is outlandish.

I think this depends on if he was playing on a level playing field or if he had advantages that others did not. I have spoken with someone who no longer plays how test drove some of these "advantages" and they seem to think he was actively using something. He's not the only "great stick" who seemed to have some of these "abilities"

I have watched his films and it seems that he always seemed to have an uncanny ability to preserve his energy state even while pulling very heavy G. I've watched other films like Yucca who's skill doesn't seem to have any of "magical" abilities.

Just because you don't understand the physics behind what he did doesn't make it magic.    Anyone can do what he does--if they know how.    No cheating required.

This is a game, not a flight simulator.  I'm talking about what I have been told by others about two of the same planes pulling the same g with the "same" fuel load (say 25%)  in the vertical and one of them consistently out climbing/zooming the other. It could be that one had fuel that was lighter or maybe one had a skinny pilot.

HT allowed Skyyr back into the game..

Don't think he would have done that if he was using a cheat..

I think he was just that good..

It was his obsession with ruining game play for others using multiple accounts, hunting then lying about it with those skills that got him booted imo..

He belongs on the list if any of the others do..

Unless you can put all of them in ma today with the skills they peaked with in game, I can't see an accurate comparison as the game is not what it was once..

Or it could be that "they" don't understand what they're seeing.

I've killed many a "they" using the exact same techniques and there is no cheating to it.   Angles and physics seem like voodoo to the uninformed.

I've seen guys like BigR do some seemingly impossible things, but I was wise enough even then to recognize SKILL rather than blame it on magic.

I think that would be a good way to come up with a list or one of those bracket things that all those with big ego could pound their chests about.

It would be tough for HT to detect a client side modification as it would modify the value it's reporting the server from the client side (something like fuel weight) and without anticheat it would be undetectable. That's why many of the games today are running anticheat to detect modifications to the client side and the variation wouldn't be obvious.

Again, I never said this was in fact the case. I merely repeated what I was told by a former player who was aware of these things and shared with me some of the details.

Oh look, its Vraciu. The guy who gamed his hit % in a spit 1 and disappeared when called out for it. 

Let's look at some facts.

1v1 - we are "tied" even though I dont consider our first meeting a true representative of my sill since it was 2am and drunk on a Friday night, but whatever. Regardless I beat him 1v1.

Special events - I have 2 KOTH championship wins. Not just regular KOTH wins. Skyyr never played special events because he was too scared to actually play with an even plane set. Regardless my stats would completely trounce his in special events in any event over my 16 years.

MA - I have 13 more #1 fighter months than Skyyr. Overall, he probbaly had a better points and K/H and than me, but I guess that's pretty easy when you can play 100 hours + months with multiple accounts. I usually always beat his K/D and and K/S.

Realistically - His 2 biggest advantages were flying the fastest cannon planes in the game with crazy good aim. His biggest weaknesses were defense with no E advantage. Even flying the easiest fastest planes he still had to game players positions with multiple accounts.

By all levels of credibility and stats, you are categorically false. I'd rate him an A lister due to his lack of defense ability, lack of special events, and using the easiest fastest cannon planes like 190D, La7s, and Ta152s while still gaming their position to get the E advantage while maintaining roughly low 3.5 k/d on average so really nothing that special there overall besides having enough hours of the day to play to rack up kills in easy modes. (Yawn). He was merely a 2 trick pony (good aim and good E in fast planes with good cannons).

A cpl. very reliable sources told me about Jon Ray being caught “using things” and banned in other sims/games. Even bragging about it in other forums. He seems to get banned a lot.

Doesn’t mean he did it here, but I will never give him 100% credit.

He was let back because someone besides him convinced HT. Lets not split hairs.

What was done to me is not forgotten. And I was one who didn’t know him but stuck up for another chance, being a nice guy. Dumbest thing I ever did in a sim.

The kind of person he is I’d be shocked if he still had all his teeth in his mouth. Big mouth for such a twig arm squirrel. Jon Ray is no ghost to me.

Watching others praise him like some cult god was vomit worthy.

He gone, his name should be gone. He and his side kick V cost us at least 20 players. Something about players not wanting to be where doxxing was going on and fecal farming rabies on 200.

99.9% of "cheat" accusations are nothing but a player not understanding what is going on. I had a discussion with one guy about how he use to out run D9s all the time in his pony, and now it seems they have no trouble catching him. Its because they have learned to dive strait down to build speed fast and level late to hold that speed as long as possible instead of a gradual dive slope. Its all those little things players learn from playing thousands of hours of practice. Guys dont use "aimbots" they have just shot hundreds of thousands of rounds and know how/where to aim.

Personally, I think thats one of the biggest reasons guys in these other games wont play here. A vast majority of players have been playing here for years and are very competent. Where we have been in thousands of fights, they may have been in hundreds. They just dont have the skills to compete. Face it, with all the practice these guys have, they dont need to cheat, they are just that good, even "You Know Who". If you pull .2 G less than another guy in the same plane and load out you WILL have more E, its just math.

As for the list of sticks, its all so very subjective. Situations are the biggest. I have killed everyone on that list. Does it make me a FPH? heck no! It means I got them at the right time in a situation that was in my favor. That doesnt make me a great fighter pilot. Im average at best, but maybe I have a bit more luck on some days. 

Thats what makes these list a waste of time if you truly want a list of the "best of all time". You have to first decide the best at what and then make your list. And even then there will be caveats. Most kills per sortie with out a rearm. It would have to be someone from 10-12 years ago as there isnt anyone who could come close these days. There just isnt enough players in the air any more compared to back then. No, there is no way to make a real list.

My whole point is that there are so many variables that I think it would be impossible to come up with an accurate rating because of it's not possible to know if somebody was legit or had some training wheels. Back in the day I was in the middle of a furball and managed to land 9 kills. Does that mean I'm some uber stick? No. Would it be possible to do that today with the way the game is currently played? I doubt it. I for one have gotten worse over time. I was at my best back in AW days when I was playing at least 4 hours a day and 12 hours a day on weekend and had GEnie bill that were close to as much as my rent.

The stuff I was refering only has to do with plane performace, not tactics. I got temp banned from the BBS for actually posting the info and links to some one night after a few beers because I got so tired of hearing that 99.9% of the cheats don't exist. One of them was the abilty to turn on the lead computing sight from the training area in the main arena for example. There were other variables that could be modified to like a/c weight. The entire post was deleted. Why would that happen if it it wasn't legit? I never messed around with it but I talked with a guy who did and he said he verified that they worked.

I think memorable fights, might be a better ranking system. For me some of the most fun fights I've had were with TheStig, Yucca and Hollywood in their jugs. I would go back and watch the films after the fights. It was good fun.

I saw the LCS in his films, no one paid attention and I heard the rest before. I know the story.  That was fixed. I asked him about the sight here and 200 6-7 times, he would do or saying anything to deflect from never answering once.

That said, with HTs past, this is probably the most secure game I’ve been in.
