Trying to avoid being political but some people here make it really difficult. They make being respectful even harder. Maybe their posts will be flagged accordingly. They won't learn but maybe they'll be silent a while.

You are so right. Personally surprised this one is not already locked.

Are there any European countries where solar and wind make up a large percentage of their electric?

Yes — several European countries generate a large share of their electricity from solar and wind, often among the highest in the world. Below are the standout examples, with rough, order-of-magnitude shares (they fluctuate year to year based on weather).

Denmark — the global leader
Wind: ~55–60% of electricity
Solar: ~5–7%
Combined: ~60–65%

Portugal — wind + solar + hydro
Wind: ~25–30%
Solar: ~10–15% (rapidly growing)
Combined: ~35–45%

Spain — strong and balanced
Wind: ~23–27%
Solar: ~12–15%
Combined: ~35–40%

Germany — huge scale, lower percentage
Wind: ~30%
Solar: ~12%
Combined: ~40–45%

Many more.

some people
This reminds me of playground recess where some says "they started it, not me!" as some sort of excuse to also break the rules.

I'd be willing to throw back some disrespect if only it wasn't a violation of the rules on this forum. "Some people" seem to get away with it ad infinitum. I get dinged just about every time.

Stand out examples, AKA best case scenarios. And "dependent on weather".

Thanks for proving the point.

It's a herculean effort. And don't hold your breath.

Exactly. There's that whole "massive manufacturing base", and 350,000,000 inhabitants thing. Not to mention states bigger than a lot of nations.

People who wish to be like Europe should move there, and mind their own business.

Yes, yes it does depend on who pushes the report button, doesn't it?
Those who THINK others are pushing it stand on it for so-called paybacks. "VICTORY!!"

Like everything else in these "road to nowhere" threads - "laws, rules and etiquette only applies to others, not me, <shakes fist> I am treated unfairly!!!".

Challenging someone on what they say is a horrific crime. <eye roll> Go figure.
Plugging ears and screaming "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!". "I cannot deal with your reality", "You couldn't possibly be right, I was told what to think and it wasn't that". "PUNISH THE INFIDEL FOR SINNING DIFFERENTLY THAN ME!!"

When you are challenged and/or taste your own meds you lose your ever loving minds. That's not tough or some ultimate bbs flamer, that's weakness to not handle what ya put out. Ya suffer from a closed mind, filtering out other belief systems so only yours is "right". Or the ethics of bombing our bbs with sim sales.

If I don't treat everyone like this you might ask yourself why that is.

I could post this > . < and at least 2 of your group of trolls would stand on the report button.

As someone posted upstream, this is like kids,.... in fact when we first started this mindless drivel of immaturity I swore yall were kids, and stated so. I felt bad arguing with someone's kid. I was shocked that you were anywhere near over 50. <blank stare>

You do what you accuse others of doing, play victim and rinse and repeat like a clock in motion... and this is like I'm talking to unruly children. <shudders>

Where is the maturity, integrity, or for Cod's sake dignity, in this small group of "bigger than life Texan macho men bull riders"? All 5-6 from TX, isn't that weird AF? Thank Cod I know others in TX who act like grown adult mature males. That is not the picture you paint.

Some of you were in the military huh? <smh>

I try to watch my Ps and Qs to avoid being shutdown and/or kicked out. It's only right, rules are rules. If I ranted and raved continuously both personally and politically I'd expect to be PNG. Shouldn't I?
