Mt. Rushmore of Aces High

Which 4 aircraft would you want carved in the side of a mountain, and why those 4 aircraft?

1) B-17 for rugged durability and high-altitude performance
2) Spitfire for great maneuverability
3) Stuka for the best dive bomber
4)  I-16 for the best annoyance of enemy fighters

Meh, I-16 is a free kill, Brewster are more annoying.  Just about any fighter is a better dive bomber than the Stuka.

Why would you hypothetically carve any plane in Mt Rushmore that was not American made?

Rushmore implies American so…

C-47 Arguably one of the greatest airplanes to ever grace the sky. Some are still doing work (not just exhibitions) to this day. Among any aviation enthusiasts top 10 aircraft of all time.

P-47 A true war machine that fulfilled every role that was thrown at it and brought its pilots home.

F6F A sturdy workhorse that decimated the Japanese.

B-25 Probably one of the most versatile aircraft in the American arsenal.

Honorable mentions…
ME109 In frontline service and viable from before the war started until its end.
IL-2 Flying tank
A6M An amazing feat of engineering that took the world by storm.
Hawker Hurricane held the line until the US could pull their head out of their butt.
