If you need a volunteer
« on: Yesterday at 07:47:32 AM »
<S> Given that this series of FSO is done and there is one frame left.

In the interest of balance and picking up the pace a little, if you need a squad to switch we can do it.
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

Dantoo,

Way to step up.

I'm not part of the CM team nor wish to be.  But I can't stop myself from suggesting that squads be reassigned frame by frame.  Is that a bad thing?

It's not a bad thing.  It's a reluctant, necessary thing.

There is a slight issue with squad members not showing up and or staying during Hour 2.  It comes down to three things.  ICE.

Integrity
Commitment
Empathy

It's easy for players to point out problems when they have never participated in the design, playability, and execution of a special event.  That takes time and effort, plus creativity to achieve an event for many to enjoy.

There are players who only want the best rides to achieve easy victories.  Challenge isn't a vocabulary word.

The vast majority of FSO players are here for the good and bad times.  There will always be issues with a setup from individual players based on their perspective.  You can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time.

Only each player can answer these questions.  Do I believe in FSO?  Do I support FSO?  Do I value the volunteer CM's?  Do I understand they are human and can't be perfect every time?

Aside from RL issues like family, work, and school, can I stay the entire 2 hours of FSO and do the best I can?

Just my 2 pennies on this matter.

NICE.  Your ICE plus Not Getting Bludgeoned to Death Repeatedly.

KOOL and I were the last Axis on.  I died only 18 times. He died 61 times.  The remainder of the Axis weren't icy enough to put up with that.

Had a quick exchange with Warhawk.

9GIAP will go Axis for the last frame.  It has to make it more fun for everybody.  I'm not convinced yet that this should become a "normal" thing.

There is not a problem of us receiving the Allied orders as I haven't written them yet!
We have the CO duty for the last frame for Allied and that is the only problem to overcome.

If somebody Allied would grab it, I will do your next allocated turn.  If it's necessary I can shuffle up the planning papers for you (but I probably do things rather differently) and send them on.

In the meantime I will make certain that NOBODY from our squad will open Allied Orders if received in error.
I will ask for somebody on Axis to forward those particular orders to me directly.
All has to happen quickly for planners to go forward with their tasks.

Thankyou

If we don't hear from the other allied squads by Wednesday night I can do up some orders. I'll make sure to not include 9GIAP in the email. :salute

Thanks for switching sides to try to balance the numbers, Dantoo. We're in a weird state now where both sides can be within their commitment ranges, but when one side is on the high end and the other on the low that difference is enough to unbalance the whole event.
